Home exercise machine

We're looking for an all around home exercise machine. Something like a Boflex as a reference. Id prefer to stay away from one of those monstrous type invade the whole basement machines.

Any recommendations from anyone?
No, a health club is not an option

Bowflex...

(seriously - my old roommate had one, and when we weren't using it as a coat rack, that thing was pretty sweet)

There's a new bowflex out that looks pretty cool. Uses some sort of disc/cable system intead of the rubber bands.

Chicago Home Fitness, go sit and try them. They have BoFlex too... but I would recommend against it.

i suggest having a cage type weight lifting bench setup; if you want to really work out.

you can lift free weights, and it has pulley setup to do other exercises like butterfly, lateral pull etc....

I never tried the bowflex. any exercise is better then no exercises. Aslong as your lifting the proper way.

Mike....what did you end up buying. Im looking for something as well.

Im going to check out the BowFlex Revolution.

All I really to get started though is a dumbell rack and an adjustable bench.

I'm the Juggernaut Bitch!

I actually use the Soloflex. It doesn't take a lot of space and can do a lot of exercises. Won it off Ebay for 300.00 bucks (not including shipping). It came with the leg and butterfly attachment.

You can use the rubber bands (small) as well as free weights on it.

I'm so buff now!

There's an Xsport Express very close to the house but it's tiny and I was not very impressed. They want $19 a month but a $109 initiation BS fee that I refuse to pay.

I think/hope/pray I would exercise more if it were in the house. I can find 30 mins a day.

You should checkout the Total Gym. Yes, the Chuck Norris machine. I have the physical therapy model and use it with all my clients. You can even add weight to it.

+1 on a Bowflex. I've had mine for 6+ years and it's still going strong. It's one of the best butterfly machines on the market. I really like some of the newer models.

Yes, the one with her. If you checkout any physical therapy center they will probably have one. The ones that they sell in the stores are not the same as what a therapist would use.

Interesting you ask - I havent bought yet but we were just talking about this and will probably make a decision this weekend. I could look at these till the turn of the century - theres a ton of machines out there that are more than adequate for what I / we need.
Might be one of these
