What kind of gear do you use for rides like these. I've only taken my bike around the city and paved bike trails. Usually wearing shorts and jimmies

If I ride no paved trails I usually bring a pair of clear glasses also. Nothing more annoying then a random branch in the eye.

Yeah, I figured it would be. We've got thunderstorms in the forecast for the next few days, too. Most likely we'll ride at Argonne.

Weather permitting I'll do Palos.
As far as gear, I highly recommend a helmet, gloves and glasses.

Rachel,

What is the distance for the Argonne path? I'm still shaking out the winter cobwebs.

Also, are you going to the CSBA meeting that morning at 11 in Oak Brook? It's on the way to Argonne. I can probably lean on Bill to keep it short.

My answer will cover both of your questions -

I have a class at the gym that gets out around 10 AM. It's pretty tough, so I will likely have less pep for the bike ride, so no need to worry about the pace/distance/your summer cobwebs.

I won't be making the meeting. Sorry!

I'd be in but I have plans to help the retarded that morning. Since its time to hit the trails I'll take my bike in for a tune-up this weekend so I can be ready for the next outing.
