I'm riding mountain bikes on Sunday, motorcycles on Saturday, but I could be swayed into mtb both days if someone else posts in here (No offense Voytech, but you could be some crazy Polish psycho).

Lets go to Kalamazoo instead... It's not that far. It's a 2 hour drive from the south side. And the bells Brew Pub is out there for our enjoyment after the ride.

I'm in... but I have a few Q's?
PDF - TRAIL MAP = http://www.fpdcc.com/downloads/pa_trailmap.pdf
More info: http://www.fpdcc.com/tier3.php?conte...8&file=map_68l

Do you plan to LAUNCH @ 8:30 or MEET @ 8:30?
- how long do you plan to ride?

- what kind of pace are you planning?
- - Fitness or chit-chat?

- are you planning to ride only FAT track?
- are you planning a mix of Single Track & FAT track?
- are you totally going for ST?

Can you direct me to the BULLFROG parking area?
I have only been to the MAIN Mt. Bike Staging area lot.
Do I just pass that lot - or do I enter the park elsewhere?

when you get off from Archer(eastbound) to get on 95th St turn right and then turn right into the first parking lot. I'll be there @8:30 (meet). I' usually ride at least an hour, if you or I get tired we can finish earlier. Pace varies, there are parts that are just asking to go fast and there are other trails that you go slow. I like to hit mostly ST but there are fat tracks that connect ST.
I don't think you should worry all that much, you'll probably make me eat your dust.

An hour of variable spped riding "mostly ST" sounds PERFECT!
BTW - we'll probably take turns eating dust!

No one else will COMMIT, huh?

After ride report:
- Who knew you could have so much FUN riding under 28mph!

Tons & tons of twisties... So much FUN! In 1.5 hours we hit more twisties in 10 miles than an all day street bike ride in IL or WI. Man, that was FUN! The trails are loaded with scary FAST downhills and plenty of jumps. Did I mention the trails are FUN?

I will be going back again & again 'till I learn 'em as well as AL.
Thanks for the tour VoytekNT!

BTW - found a BETTER trail map:

Glad you had fun, we can do it again this coming saturday if the mid week rain won't get in a way too much. Next time I'll show you the other trails that we did not get on.

Sorry we didn't make it out to Palos -- We ran up to Kalamazoo yesterday and rode the trails at Ft. Custer. AWESOME!!!!

I hope we can all make it up there this season.

Fort Custer trail:The difficult Red Loop challenges riders with logs, whoop-de-dos, steeper climbs, and twisting Granny’s Garden. The mellower Green Loop rolls next to Eagle Lake with a steep switchback climb and two shallow creek crossings. The Blue and Yellow Loops complete the rainbow with mostly obstacle-free trails, perfect for the novice cyclist. Tread: 1.5 miles of paved road, 0.2 mile of dirt road, 15.1 miles of singletrack.

It was a 2 hour drive each way though, but I found it worth it.

What's the prognosis on a Wednesday after work ride?

I haven't done the Palos trails in years. I got a feeling I would get my ass handed to me. And Field3, I'm doing the Late Ride too. If you want to meet up, let me know I should be with a couple of friends.

p.s. If someone is looking for a bike rack, I have a Yakima on the roof system for sale. Q-Towers, poles, and fairing. No locks and no rails.

with the rain we just got last night, Palos probably won't be rideable tomorrow. I won't ride wet trails.
