NIKE "Remix" Race: Who's In? (8/17/2006)

Hey, for those of you who enjoyed running the Shamrock Shuffle earlier this year (and those who missed it) here's your chance to run another 5 mile race. This time its on August 17th, AT NIGHT (9pm to be exact) and De La Soul will be the headlining band.

I ran the One Hit Wonder race last year (5k, not the 10k) and it was a total blast.

check it out here: http://www.nike.com/nikerunning/usa/...#run_hit_remix

Post up, who is up for this?

(by the way, the "Run Loud" in the photo is not photoshopped, they actually had the lights setup this on on the building! too cool!)

seriously, what was your chip time for the shuffle? had to be low 30s if the digital timer was saying 35ish when you crossed.

So you're the one putting potholes in my lawn

34:51 - I was fairly close to the start so it wasn't that much better and I kept pretty much to my training schedule this time

Fuck, dude, you'd probably post a better time if you somehow convinced Solo to carry you. Better get workin' on that to avoid embarassment.

Oops. I mean.. EMR!! Prepare to be owned.

eh, I'm riding a razor scooter in this race. It cuts my time by 2 or 3%
(would be more, but I keep crashing into back of YWBs).

I'll be thrilled if I post a 46 or 47 run for this one.

Deefib, If you can carry me on your back, I'll go!

I *only* weigh 14 Stone @ 1.8 meters tall.

Actually, the Elvis is Alive 5k is at 6pm on the 13th. I might go to that as a warmup for the nike race.

Okay, I just found out that this race is actually a 'fun run' and so, runners will NOT be chipped. So, its up to you to decide how many minutes you 'ran' this race when you meet up with your friends. I'm going to predict an easy 27 minute run for me.

Just for that, I'm signing up for the Elvis is Alive race which IS chipped. Shorter race, has beer, and lotsa hot chicks.

What the fuck.. seriously? That's wack. I was all ready to blow away my 50 minute time with some 8 minute miles.

yeah its not chipped. i've got some hour long podrunner mp3's, i'm just going to kick one off when I cross the start and pause it at the end. that will give me my time.

i wish i wasnt so busy next weekend, i'd knock out the elvis is alive 5k.

oh never mind, I just found out that the elvis is alive run is also 'self timed'

Not only that, but the nike shirt is ugly ugly ugly.

Oh well, time to find another race to train for that will give out cooler shirts AND are chip timed.

So, no elvis for me. Instead, I will do the west fest next sunday to see Waco Brothers, Last Vegas and Local H. That will be plenty of a workout for me!
