Gym pet peaves II

Did a search for the old thread and it's not here...

This was a fun thread before...

Guy on the treadmill next to me has the worst ass cheese smell ever. As he sweats more and starts to run, the movement stirs up the stink. I'm like GET A BABY WIPE.

OK, your turn.

Hey man, my ass sweat is a delicacy -- I bottle that shit and sell it. Sweat nectar of the ass.

I have all my own stuff so I don't have to put up with that crap anymore.

People doing curls in the squat rack.

When I hear deadlifts are dangerous.

When people tell me that bringing the bar down to my chest during bench press is dangerous.

When I bench press 8,000 metric tons and people ask for my autograph.

I only do it twice a week and that's just cuz I wanna build endurance for mountain biking and running away from all the people that want my autograph at the gym when I stick a barbell in my ass crack and do my bow-legged squats...oh, and for warm-up before lifting.

Is it actually dangerous to bring the bar to your chest? i heard that it's stress on your shoulders or something...not sure though obviously

I friggen hate that crap. I used to goto Lifetime and there were two power racks in the back corner where I'd do squats, deadlifts, etc and some tard was always in there curling the bar with 20# on it.

Only if you aren't accustomed to the weight, have flexibility issues, or a pre-existing condition with your shoulders. Wide grip bench is also harder on the shoulders than a medium or narrow grip. Then when you start lifting really heavy, anything can be dangerous.

Every powerlifting org requires that the bar come all the way down and rest on the chest.

People think it's dangerous because when doing it that way, you can't lift as much. It's a wider range of motion obviously. It gets 'dangerous' when people don't check their ego at the door and try and lift as much as only going 1/2 way down.

I haven't been to a gym in a couple years. People using equipment for towel racks always pissed me off.

Today, I got a text saying that fanny pack guy had been usurped by "guy in velvet vest"

Women who load up on hair spray/body spray in the locker room BEFORE they work out (usually in front of the last mirror before the door, so you have to HOLD YOUR BREATH as you go by).

Women who leave their used shaving equipment, dirty underwear and other shit behind in the shower.

When at the gym, its time to STFU and work out. I hate when some 40 year old hack just stands there blocking the machine talking to his other 40 year old hack buddies about nothing important OR when a 30 year old hack tries mackiní on any 20 year old chick with too much makeup on. STFU and work out or go to a bar!!!

Really old guys (60+) that decide that its oK for them to walk around naked in the locker room. I DONíT WANT TO LOOK AT YOUR RAISINS!!!! On that note; how come I never see those guys on the floor working out EVER!?! Its like they come to the gym to walk around naked in the locker room.

2 guys that just got out of the shower standing naked next to my locker and talking about their sisters. WTF!!!

There are way more of these among the ladies. The chicks who do their hair and makeup to go work out.

I would purposely go there just for the entertainment factor...tell your friend to be careful in the shower.

What is Gilad? And do you still teach water aerobics? Do people pee in the pool?

I hate it when the locker room is empty and someone walks up and takes the locker right next to the one I'm using while I'm standing there.

Not a pet-peeve, but I get a kick out of the guys that walk around in Under-Armor everything... shirt, shorts, socks, headband... etc.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

  • Rack your weights when you're finished.
  • If I can see your sweat on the machine you better wipe it down.
  • If I see you in the same clothes multiple days in a row I'm going to assume you're a filthy fuck.
  • If you yell, scream, or make any other noise that would be considered "loud" while lifting you better be pumping HUGE amounts of weight.

Chris

Jagbags that wear a stocking cap in the gym while they are working out.

Fucking morons that work out in the Sauna or the steam room. WTF?!?!

Some assclown that stands rite next to you, crowding you waiting for the machine you are on. GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM ME!

Oh yea, and in the locker room, no matter what, when I pick a locker, someone will come up have the locker rite next to me or pick the locker rite next to me. I hate that.

And yes, I still teach Oldie Aerobics. But my people are all continent. I think.
I am also going to be teaching water aerobics to the Bariatric Surgery patients beginning tomorrow. That ought to be interesting....
