Sure, come on out. If the weather is good we'll be there. Bullfrog lake, 11am.

I'll be driving a silver Hyundai Elantra and riding a red/black Novaro mtb.

Nope, we won't laugh. Some of us do it every so often.

Weather-wise it's lookin' pretty good. A bit cool and breezy but no precip. Perfect mtb'ing weather.

Ahh, okay. Have fun and don't break it!

So we have Rachel, Hans, gasguzzler, and Glenn.

What do you guys think? It's been raining a lot the past few days and I don't know if Palos will be dried out by tomorrow. Hans, you have the most experience, I believe. Do you think it's dry enough to ride or shall we try again next weekend?

You're right, it has been raining a lot. And when it stopped it was still pretty humid so I don't know if the trails have had a chance to dry out. I'll check CAMBR and see what they say.

EDIT: I checked cambr and a guy was just out there this evening taking his dogs for a walk. He said it's still way to wet to ride on Saturday.

I'll PM you guys and let you know the deal.

Yeah I use to live right down the street from there and it will take a while to dry out this time of the year.

Just getting to my messages Chris...thanks for the heads up. I would also defer to the CAMBR site on this. If they think it's not good then so be it - HOWEVER, let's make sure to set up the next session expeditiously

Palos is and always has been a freaking swamp. It's too bad we don't live closer to Kettle. See you next weekend (I hope!)

Yeah, I hate how poorly Palos drains. And it's just some spots that are perpetually muddy.

Would you guys be up for a Friday ride or can you only do Saturday/Sunday?

I work the typical Dolly Parton schedule (9 to 5/M-F) without any Dolly Parton's around the office

if you are going riding at a place like Palos, I highly suggest a helmet.

+1. It's your choice whether or not to wear a helmet, but at Palos I highly suggest you wear one. Have you been there before?

Lived in Palos almost all my life. Know where you are talking about. Never rode their trails. Never owned a helmet for a bicycle. Dont own one for a motorcycle either right now, but that is a whole other story.
