That looks like a lot of fun. I've got a trip to NM in August, but if I get back in time then I'm in.

This might be a dumb question, but can I use my MTB? It's the only bike I have.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

You can use it, but you may want to change to a road tire not knobby.

Kick ass. I haven't worn Lil Green in awhile.

I need to start swimming, though. I can run that far and bike that far no problem, but I haven't swam in a long time.

I'm signed up. I'm looking for a tri bike, but haven't found one yet. I'll just use my mountain bike instead.

Oh and I'm totally wearing a speedo! It's awesome.

Let me know if you are going. We grab breakfast after. I'm running with my frined Josh. He runs the ironman so he can hold a table for us at breakfast since he'll be done about a half hour before we cross the finnish line

how do they use chip timing for this? I've ran chip timed races but I always fasten the chip to my shoe. How would you fasten a chip when you have a swim portion? And surely you'd have different shoes for the running and riding.

If i remember correctly the timing chip is in an elastic band that you wear around your ankle.

How's training going guys?

I've been swimming every other day during the week and when I'm not swimming I'm either riding my bike or running. The swim is going to be tough! I figure track days are good enough for a workout on the weekends.

I've altered my diet cutting back on drinking and eating healthier. I've already dropped about 3-5lbs. Plus my cardio stamina is finally starting to feel decent again.

The swim on this tri is uber short so it's not tough. I didn't do the race last year but I went and watched. I did 2 sprints and the Chicago Accenture International distance. Time was 2:56 on that one. This one we'll probably be about 1:30 or so I think. The tri is short so folks that aren't training you can still do it just won't be at the top of the pack of course.

Chips on swim are waterproof so that doesn't matter.

I'll be there going with a buddy since just gonna go alongside him he's slower than me but it will be fun.

Good little race I haven't trained a lick for distance this year because riding motorcycles is 1000% more fun, but I'll do the tri's anyways work pays for them and they are still fun.

Ride that mountain bike too I spent $3K on a bike and gear that I will probably never get my full use out of. bike rocks but if you aren't going to stick with the sport long term it's uber expensive.

What pool do you train at? Although I'm not doing the tri, I do try to work laps into my workout if I'm at a gym with a pool, and doing a half mile is no problem for me if you're doing distance (as long as it's not all butterfly!).
