Rock Climbing - Burr Ridge Lifetime

Not counting the un-savory theft issues...

The GF and I have been climbing there for the last month or so...took the class (which was cool, great instructors, very patient).

Anyone climb out there? We are mostly there Tues/Thurs nites 6pm-8pm.

Come on out and break a sweat.

Kaos

Bah, that place has nothing on Vertical Endeavors in Warrenville. If you want some great indoor climbing you should check them out. I'll climb with you on Thursday next week.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

Which 5.9+ was it? I did the one downstairs that you are humping the corner of the wall. It was my last route of the day so I didn't on-site it. That was a hard one.

If there isn't a Strats this Wednesday I'll climb with you. I'm off for once.

I've tried that one too. A lot of people say it's a little harder than posted. I did one downstairs but on the left side. You do a little wall humping but then switch to crack climbing.

So you don't have to have a membership to lifetime to get into VE? Also what kind of gear do you need to go? I'd like to try sometime.

You don't need a thing to climb there. We rent harnesses, chalk bags, climbing shoes, and belay tools. We are a completely different company than LF so you just need $15 to climb all day (you can come and go as you please without paying anything additional). It's $4 for each rental item or $10 for the package.

You should come on out on Wednesday and climb with us. The routes are awesome.

Jeremy, I think I know the one you are talking about. It's the 2nd route on the left just as you come down the stairs. The first one on the left is a 5.7.

Does LF have agreements/relief with VE? I had heard something to that effect. We are definitely going to hit VE sometime in the future, probably when we feel comfortable with lead climbing the easy routes.

Christian and Jamie were our instructors...

Also adding another 20 miles to my exercise commute just doesnt compute, LOL.

Joe - Probably around 7 on Wednesday. A 5.9 is actually a pretty difficult route to start on. I use those for warm-ups, but I'm a pretty solid 5.10b climber.

Kaos - They just share the same building. VE is completely separate otherwise. If you like climbing you should come and check it out. I think you'll be impressed at the size of the complex and the types of routes. It is the biggest one in the Chicago area.

uni - Ok, I know which one you are talking about. Its like the 3rd route on the left, not the 2nd, just to the right of the crack.

Joe, Uni, are you two still up for climbing tonight?

I'll go if you two go. I went yesterday morning, good routes.

FYI, Uni, they downgraded that 5.9+ to a 5.9.

I can be down for this. Remember its my first time so you'll have to have patience. So 7pm work? What should I bring with me?

No worries, Joe. Rock climbing is very chill. Just bring comfortable clothes to climb in and $25... and a bottle of water. Its a good workout.

I'll be there at 7. You know where it is, right?
