Running: Music

I've mentioned this before, but due to the recent activity in this forum I thought it waranted mentioning again.

I bet most people listen to music when jogging, cycling, training, lifting, etc. I've found a great source for this: djsteveboy.com. You can download from the site or set it up for download using whatever podcasting (the podcase is called podrunner) software you prefer. He creates hour long fixed BPM mixes that are awesome for zoning out to and using for cadence.

Worth checking out if you like dance/electronic type music. He's not a world class dj by any means but the way he weaves the songs together while maintaining a specific tempo makes it GREAT.

SWEET +1, I was looking for some music to add to my Ipod. Running with upbeat music makes time go by faster, not to mention running harder.

I usually do go for anything over 155bpm, but play with the different tempos and see what you like.

I run listening to an audio book or a podiobook. I hate running so f'n much I do not want to be reminded of the time I was out. If I know a song is 3min it kills me.

On the pod it is - Off today but will run on Thurs and test it out - Cook, I commented on BP.C as I saw that is where he rips his shit from - Their PC's as all the way smooth

How often does he update or do I have to send him $$ to keep getting new ones?

i think he releases a new one every couple weeks. he has tons of old podcasts you can download from the archive section. At an hour a piece it will take you a while to crank through them. As straight up mixes they're only OK, I probably wouldnt listen to in the car or around the house, but for workouts they're frickin' perfect(just because it's consistent).

edit: and they're free, which is why there are 2 minutes of discussion and ads at the beginning, to fund it.

That's why running in the gym is so much better. Sit in the back row, watch all the sweaty wimmenz jiggle. The best is when they use the stair master. Bonerrific i tell ya.

It is the only thing that takes weight off for me. I have done elipitcals and other things it just does not seem to work. Running feels like a good workout for me.

I will sometimes do a cadence cd to remind me of my active duty days.

I tend to say south of 160bpm. Some favs that come to mind when browsing the list are:

155 BPM - Emotion in Motion
145 BPM - Rainy Day Run
135 BPM - Build
150 BPM - Cloudrunner
145 BPM - I Put My Big-Boy Pants On

emotion in motion and rainy day are quite good, in my opinion.

WORD BIG BIRD - Thx Cook - I am a little more into the 130-150 BPM stuff (this weeks is like 169 which is a bit much for my taste) and there is plenty on there - You rock Bro - I bookmarked his page too
