CLSB Football!!!!

Ok in my last thread there was a lot of talk about a CLSB flag/tackle football game. I would be in for either. Just wanted to start this thread to see how much interest there truly is. I would be game for organizing it if we can get enough people.

Possible Times:

Saturday/Sunday Morning. Rain or Shine. ( I do prefer the rain )

Post up people. I would love to make this a regular thing too.

I'm in if its touch. I learned a long time ago you can't take former football players and put them in a game of friendly backyard tackle football. we did a reunion game every thanksgiving and the 2nd year we had a broken color bone, broken had, broken fingers, concussion, teeth through lips, and a pullled ham string. I luckily came out unhurt.

He's right somebody always takes it the wrong way or goes too hard.

These are 3 bucks each. Lets get a couple of sets and do it right.

Exactly! Tackle without gear=broken bones waiting to happen! Touching is so much better

In for tackle as well. Use to play back in the day. I suppose Flag will have to do if that is the preferred method.

Yea tackle is really the only way to play. I did take Hunny down one time during a family football game. When you hit the QB...the goal is so that they don't get back up.

Whoever wants to help Hunny apparently also wants to become my personal tackling dummy too Football is one of those times when it's better to side with the big ugly dude instead of the cute little girl

Silent, you don't have to suck up till you find out your on the opposite team.

I'll play if this gets put togeather, tackle is fun. Its blindsided blocking that usually gets people hurt. I'm sure we can keep it fun with safe blocking and no knee tackling. I'm actually looking forward to playing at Portage Park this season, although my age is catching up to me. I can no longer be the main RB and I'm moving back to safety and leaving LB duties to the younger guys. I took a hit to the side of my knee last year that took me out for a couple of weeks, walking is way more important than impressing a bunch of has beens. Gasguzzler=has been.

There is always the option of a little mix, 2 hand touch for women and tackle for men. Just an idea to through out.
