Arlington Hts X Sport...Closed

So, was anyone else at the Arlington Hts X sport tonight when the lights went out? I was in the middle of squating when the power went out. Kind of interesting working out in the dark..lol!

They first came around and told us we could keep working out, but the power would be out for a bit, no explanation.

Then, they came back around and said there was a mandatory evacuation due to a Gas leak at the BP next door (Explains all the smokin' hot fire fighters that were in the gym when I got there!). We passed the gas station going home, and the smell from the gass was overwhelming. Just sitting at the stoplight I started to get a headache.

At least I managed to get in my last set before they kicked us out!

The gas pipe broke in front of my kids daycare. They had to put all the kids in a back room that was sealed off until the parents came to pick them up. Any car that happened to be in the parking lot at that time was not allowed to be running. This morning the daycare still isn't allowed to use any gas.

I'm not short. I'm aerodynamically efficient.

That gas leak must have been going for a while because I passed by it around 5 and could smell it from a good distance. I did notice that when I got to the gym around 7:30 that it was unusually empty. Wonder if it's due to that. They made an announcement around 8:30 that the gas would be out for the next hour or two. What time did they force everyone to get out?

Sorry, my bad. I ran out of 45# plates and I just decided to pull off an "I" beam from the wall. Didn't realize it has gas lines connected to it.

The lights went out around 5:45, and they finally evacuated around 6:30.

That would explain why all 4 of the stair master machines were unusually free at 7:30
