Noobs @ the gym

...hate it, so annoying...

People pack the gym for a month, maybe 'til mid February(the hard-core NYE resolution makers) and then and the noobs disappear. I swear, if you're going to quit in a few mere weeks, then don't even bother taking up gym space in the first place- you know..the space that some people actually use!!!

I despise the first few weeks of every new year!!!

What do you think about those work-out NYE resolutions? I think it's bogus, esp since people had all year to do this....it's like having to have to go pee but not peeing until a 'special' date

Oh it's hilarious, also the spring breakers. You know, the new people with the fake tans trying to bulk up ahead of the spring vacation.

The New Year resolutionists are great, always walking around with new work out clothes and a clip board

Don't know what you are complaining about. It is those EXTRA paying members that only take up space for a few weeks that help offset the costs of the club, and help keep your membership fees lower.

Praise the noobs and thank them for their contribution to your bank account.
The faster they fail and quit, the better off you are. The good news though, is that they contributed to the cause!

This is exactly what I was thinking...

I once had an account at a World Gym for over 3 years and never stepped foot in there once.. Paid for 2 people too..

I bought the first 2 years under construction - got in a nasty motorcycle accident before it was done... Moved back out of state.. and 3 or 4 years later I kept noticing the charge appear on my CC.. Eventually fixed it.. but I ended up paying for 3 years for two people and never saw the inside of the place. Stupid me. Good for the other members though.. If everyone who paid went gyms would be stacked from floor to ceiling all day.. Luckily only about 10% of people go regularly, the rest just pay regularly.

I hate it when they try to swim. They send their kids to splash around in the other open lanes while they attempt not to drown. Then I gotta wait for a lane.

you people are snubs. fat people are not dumb, people that think that are dumb.
not everyone is fat because they gobble fast food and sit on the couch with popcorn all day - those would not even step in the gym even after new year resolution. Some are having metabolic issues, some are more susceptible to being overweight. do you know how hard it is to commit to workout? Not everyone can, but it doesn't make them any lesser people than no-fat. I was a resolutionist last year, been going 4-5 times a week since January 26th 2009, and have no plans to stop working out. you never know if you are going to fail or not before you try, so more people try, more get in shape, it's a selection process, but if people would not even start it, no one would get "selected".

I am still fat, but I got much more in shape, gained strength and endurance, and can't even imagine me stoping working out. now only if I could make myself eat healthier

You're right. We are just blowing off steam from having to wait for our machines half the night. But don't get Chicago Performance going on the genetics and metabolism problems!

Revised* Now that you've burned fat, built muscle -it will be easier to loose weight and burn off more fat, you should def intensify your workout regimen(more cardio) and make smart choices regarding your food. Good luck !

There has not been an influx of nubs @ the Ballys i frequent. There is an abundance of old men standing around like it's a coffee shop, talking about which fe-fe they would like to pork. Sick bastards.
