you have not experienced powder skiing until it is bottomless. i am not talking a foot of powder, i am talking 3 feet of jet-dry angel shit. you come up you can see, you go down its a face full of white, and you never feel the bottom..........fuckn awesome. i have only done it a dozen or so times. everything else pales in comparison.

I was lucky enough to ski in this kind of powder at Beaver Creek a few years ago. Awesome.

Definitely nothing like riding in powder. It's the best. I'd always laugh at the kids riding the park when it dumping or on a Bluebird pow day. I'm thinking about maybe taking a sick day tomorrow and hitting up Alpine.

I was thinking about hitting Cascade this evening, I'm in Madison right now.

We've got about 5 inches of new snow right now, it's still coming down.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

Dang.....I thought this was going to be a recovery drink thread!

Chills, Isn't Cascade in the UP? Are you taking the Ferry or something?

Nope, Cascade is about 40 minutes north of Madison. It's pretty good sized for a Midwest ski area. I went there last Saturday and it was PACKED with people. It was also cold as sh*t.

It's expensive during the day, $80 for lift ticket and rentals. Not worth it IMHO, but if you go after 5pm the price drops to like $45 or something.

Same price as everywhere else no? Plus for me, kids ski free. Saves me $45, and it's about the same size as every other place around the Dells area.

Same price as out west, too; that's what I'm comparing it to.

Good point.

It's a bummer skiing is so expensive here for what you get.
