We have 2 at my parents lake house. Don't know the brands off the top of my head...just generic ones you can get at a dick's sporting goods. Where you thinking about using it?

I have to say, while its fun, it's not a very tough workout.

I couldn't think of another forum besides the open forum to put this in.

Mostly on lakes, sometimes on rivers, but not whitewater stuff.

If you ain't with us, then it's just bad news.

I have a wilderness systems tandem 14.5'. Been on the Fox River below the algonquin dam and I take the kids on Crystal Lake all the time. I can stuff 2 of them in the front and paddle from the back. It's got a rudder you steer with your feet which I highly recommend. Come over and try anytime you want - weather permitting. You're more than welcome to borrow it for a weekend if ya want too,

Justin, go down to LL Bean in South Barrington, ask questions. My brother, Diane and I went on their Kayak outdoor experience, $20, for 2 hours they provided everything. Good experience. All the do-dads going to set you back @ 2 large if I recall correctly. But thats everything.

Sometimes goodbye is your second chance.

I was in LL Bean right after they opened-what a disappointing store. Thats not an outdoor store in my opinion. Needless to say I went accross the street to Cabelas. 2 grand for a kayak? Id rather hit up a truck stop for an innertube!! I have to believe theres a ton of used yaks out there

You buy new you pay top dolla, used you get a basement deal. Any boat of any kind it's the same boaters saying that goes with owning one.

I have a client who is really into it and kayaks on the Guadalupe all the time and takes tons of trips all summer (he actually trailers his kayak with his giant Harley ).

I've been sea kayaking several times and my only advice to you is get a backrest for your seat.

If it is motorized it shouldn't be called a kayak. It is a boat. A small, shitty, top heavy, boat.
