I think it's there to add a lil revenue for the site. Click on it every once in a while and make some monies for CLSB. The site should get something every time we click on it.

I put it up yesterday, I'm trying it out to see how it works and looks. I'll never go back to the old way of doing site business, as I dont want members censored etc, but if I can find a way to pay some bills and keep everything free in both cost and speech for you guys, it's a win win.
and ya click an add once and while it does help the site.
Once I get it ironed out a bit I am going to move it up under the navbar so it's more visable.

Two words of advice on the matter...

First, don't ask or mention anything about suggesting people click on ads, this will get you booted from the AdSense program. Lots of people clicking on multiple ads is a sure fire way to get booted as well.

Second, put it up top, BUT, put it on the template so it only shows to non-registered users. That way people who are donating to the site wont get angry at you, and your CTR will be higher which will be worthwhile in the long run. It also rewards new users for registering this way.

Already in my thought process, I'm working on some new stuff that will acomplish that, but I'm not ready to roll it out yet. Also anyone who has some experience with using this google system please chime in, I would like to get it to target the best it can. if theres gonna be a couple adds, I'd like them to at least be useful.

People can set their browsers for that as default behavior, put the problem on the user not the admin!

At first it was bothering me, but now I dont really notice it either. it will get more intrusive if I put it on the side form what I was just looking at so I'm gonna leave it on top for the time being.

LOL, it took six years of prodding from people for me to take this step, that other shit is NOT happening. I just had to get with the times here and throw this up.

Targeting is by what pays most based on eCPM (earnings per thousand impressions), relevancy is kind of irrelevant. For maximum income you want to place the ad below the first post on any given page. Again showing this to non-reg would be the most effective.
