Not sure what you mean here. Is the System shrinking them down to a certain max size?

If so...

Host them elsewhere in their original size and link to them

yeah i agree with arch. put them on a site like photobucket. then link to that.

that's interesting though, because i've noticed some pics are shown like smartbiker's as a thumbnail. my pics are on photobucket, so when i post something, i'll put the image 'code' or 'source' which i copy from photobucket, and it displays full size on my post.

hope that's what you're looking for

If your linking to a photo offsite, it shows it at native resolution. If your uploading, it automatically generates a thumbnail which you need to click on to see the full size image.

For instance, the photo of my Duc, is hosted on my personal cerver on dreamhost.com, since I am ading it to the thread via link (by hitting the button above with the mountian on it), it shows up full size

Ramenboy's post, #5 basically says what/how; using http://photobucket.com/ ( I believe you have to register, but it's free )

There is also http://imageshack.us/ (Don't have to register, you can just upload it and you'll be taken to the next step:

When you upload it there, copy the "Forum Code" and put it in your posts here and it will do exactly what you are looking for... It will display the picture in your post where you put that code.

Also, just to clarify.

If (for example) your photo is 500 X 500, then it's only going to be 500 X 500 when you post it online! I typically post my photos at 800 X 530, so photos will always appear larger than someone who posts them at 500 X 500.

So pay attention to the size of your original images. If they are small, they will be small.

(note - for the nit-pickers, yes, you can enlarge digital images, but I don't want to confuse the issue)
