RIP Fred Duncan

Fred Duncan, Director of the former NESBA Midwest region, passed away this morning from cancer. Fred was known as Racer23 on CLSB and other boards.

Fred ran NESBA midwest track days for many years, and is known to most of us who ever rode with NESBA MW. Fred led by example, creating through his leadership an organization where everyone looked out for everyone else in the paddock.

Fred also worked tirelessly to make the NESBA Blackhawk Farms Chili Cookoff a success. The 5 annual cookoffs raised over $36,000 for airfence, much of which is deployed at BHF, saving many of our fellow riders from serious injury or worse. The spirit of that effort outlived the NESBA MW region, which was closed by HQ in 2012, with the continuation of the annual airfence fundraiser, now known as the Broken Wing benefit.

Fred was gruff, fair, honest, and would give any rider his full support at the track. He will be greatly missed in the paddock, and in life.

A Visitation and Memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at:

Dunn Family Funeral Home
1801 So. Douglas Ave.
Oswego, IL. 60543.

Phone 630-554-3888.

Visitation is 3PM-7PM, with a Memorial service at 7PM.

RIP. Godspeed Fred.
