So what events will you be attending?

I was just courious what dates everyone here will be going to the track. I finally bit the bullet, forked out the big bucks and got the 12 day package.

I will be attending (at a minimum) these events:

April 19 Road America
April 20 Road America
May 13 Blackhawk
May 14 Blackhawk
May 29 Road America
May 30 Road America
June 3 Autobahn CC North
June 4 Autobahn CC North
July 29 Blackhawk
July 30 Blackhawk
September 2 Blackhawk
September 3 Blackhawk

It really makes me wonder why someone would spend $1800 on a titanium exhaust and pcIII when they could go to 12 track days for less than that.

I will also be camping at these events as well, so Im looking forward to all the cookouts and Linsays insane childhood stories.

So I guess no one else is attending any events this year? Looks like I got Intermediate all to myself and Linsay has Advanced all to himself. Maybe with a little luck I can ride around with Linsay towards the end of the year. I might need a few more events to do that. Hmm... I hear STT has 3 days at Road America. I may need to make an appearance.

I will also probably be catching that Road America day on Sunday, August 13th with STT. I might do the Limited Endurance day with STT on Monday, June 12.

I did an Advanced Only day with NESBA at Autobahn, where is was open track all day. That format was fantastic. I could stay out as long as I wanted, instead of stopping every 20 minutes. I drained a whole tank in one sitting, and did about 275 track miles that day. I am in good shape physically, and was able to do well the whole day. It was a good value.

I wish I could do more, but its not just the money, its the time as well. I mean, if I wanted to do more dates I would be looking at a 2-3 weekends a month that Im at the track.

Damn, when do you find time to do any yard work, or just have cookouts, or do the things that normal people do??? Do any of you have kids? When do you go to their little league games, or school plays???

I mean, I have 12 already, and Im looking at maybe doing a couple more, and sign up with Learning Curves for their August Blackhawk event. So that 15 days. 6-7 weekends this summer are spent at the track. I think that will be pretty good. It should be some good camping time with the G/F. I think she is actually looking forward to it. Go figure.

I go to everything that my kids do. I have a son and a daughter. I went to almost all of her out-of-town cheerleading competitions, plays and now, piano recitals. I go to all my son's choir shows and school plays. He helps run shows at the Barlow Planitarium too, and sometimes I go to see those. We also try to go tent camping a few times a year. Once in a great while, they join me at the track. I have a great family, and I don't want to miss time with them. Besides, my track season is really only 5 to 6 months long.

My question was more retorical than anything. But still somewhat serious.

Honestly, with as far as you probably have to travel, I'd suggest doing 2 per weekend. It isn't THAT tiring, especially if you get to sleep at a decent hour (by 10PM) and don't drink yourself into a stupor afterwards.

If you do both days on a track weekend, you don't have to travel quite as much to get the track time in.

Oh, but back to the topic..I'll probably do what I can. I haven't checked the various orgs, but I'd like to get a non-race weekend at Road America, Gratten, Gingerman, and Putnam. I liked Autobahn North and might do the full track as well.

Will do. Tomorrow I'm going to check with my leasing office about extending 'til July 1. If I can, I'll be doing the 12-pack including RA in April. I'm also going to try and squeeze in a PTT/STT weekend, not sure which though. I'd like to do one of the STT Limited Endurance Days.
