ROLL CALL: Grattan 4/15-16/06

So, it looks like it is just around the corner folks! End of winter, or at least the end of the NESBA hibernation in the midwest. I was just curious who was going to Grattan?

If you could list bike, days and class, it would be great for those of us who don't know each other yet. Personally, I'd like to see the CLSB crowd try to PIT more together this year. Last year, at least at the end of the year, it seemed we were all spread out and didn't even get to meet other CLSB members that were there the same weekend.

Handle: Wink
Name: Brian Wink
Bike: CBR600F4i - Silver/Black #19 (maybe GSXR600 or 1000)
Days: Saturday & Sunday
Class: Advanced

Some familiar faces that I already know are going are:
RonHix
Tom Larson
Carole Larson
Jon Gu
Barry Dolan
Maybes:
Marshall Skloss
Will Neumann
I don't know how many of you have ridden at Grattan before, but it is a new track for most people from NESBA (STT does Grattan normally). I hear that it is full of off camber turns, elevation changes and blind turns. A relatively technical and challenging course, it is said to be quite a bit of fun.

Details on it can be found at http://www.grattanraceway.com/ More details can also be found at http://www.na-motorsports.com/Tracks/MI/Grattan.html

It is a 2.2 mile racetrack located just outside of Grand Rapids, Michigan and it appears at the moment that this is the only time that NESBA is going to go to this track this year.

If you are looking for a hotel, Grattan recommends the Radisson which is around $78 a night that is nearby 616-363-9001. Called the Raddison Riverfront. http://www.radisson.com/ go to Grand Rapids.

If you've got the itch to get back out on the track or on it for the first time, get signed up. It is also one of the least expensive tracks we go to at $145 a day (second day discounted too) Hope to see a great CLSB group there, it would be great if we could pit together more this year.

It is going to be a blast!

So, post up if you are going.

If we get there early enough, the SW section of the paved pit area is a pretty sweet place to be, gives a view of pretty much the entire back section of the track from turn 3 till turn 9.

Great course... you'll experience stuff there that ya just don't see anyplace else. Last time I was there, the surface left much to be desired, but that was in '04.

Right... I was referring to the non-raining part of the day. Not sure how it was by you, but after the rain cleared up and the sun came out, I went for a ride, and it was beautiful around here.

Grattan should be fun... first track day of the year for me and never been there before. I hear it's challanging.

See ya there.

Well, I am at the Radisson at $79 a night at the moment. Any closer and cheaper suggestions? Or is the Candle one the closest....

Actually, I just care more about being wherever everyone else is.

I'm a cheap bastard.. so price was right.. and beats Red Roof Inn on location; 20 miles away (which is where I had me reservation before). Candle is 8.1 miles.

Is Candle the closest? All I care about is a bed! Cheap and sleazy is fine (except in women... and sometimes that is ok too)

Of course if it rains now I'll have to throw feces at you. What color leathers are you wearing again?
