Truth be told, I'm forking terrified of this... I've recruited friends to join me but I'm still quite worried about my first track day. Are they going to be cool with generic numbering from ace hardware, someone please PM me with important tech inspection details...

Your street bike will be totally cool to run in B group. As for numbers, don't even worry about it, if they really bug you about it, just get some duct tape and tape the numbers on. It is fine like that, and that's how I ran for a while. Basically if your bike is running well, doesn't leak anything and has a decent pair of tires on it, you will pass tech inspection.

Do you need to borrow any gear? If so, what size are you? You will need to do a few things like tape up or remove mirrors, turn signals and reflectors. You can do that when you get to the track, but if possible, do as much as you can before you arrive. It just makes things less rushed if you can prepare ahead of time.

Here is a link to the rulebook for your review. Find the section on B group bike prep, and gear, and see what you need to do.

Just try to get some sleep and eat a good meal the night before.

The weather is supposed to be nice that day. It is a great group of people and there are plenty of folks to help you with anything you need.

I will try to find you right away when I get there and bring you into our pit area, so you'll have some support and some people to hang out with. It is a lot of fun. I've done 50 of these days, starting when my bike was new, without incident. It can be intimidating at first, but that won't keep you from having a great time.
