Very technical track. If you can ride consistent, fast lines at Grattan, you can ride almost any track in my opinion.

me too
I don't think I was able to run truly consistent laps at all there, seems like I blew at least one turn every lap when riding fast. . Definately gonna take more practice. Fun track....you know, the frightening kind of fun

Yeah, I was running mid and low 1:30's a couple weeks ago, and I'm definitely not fast. Grattan's a very fun track, just wish it wasn't so far.

I ran a new bike at Grattan, on a new ACL, on the first weekend of the year, on a new track, with a green flag track. So, to be honest with you, I was happy to be able to ride all the minutes available to me.

Simple goal, it was a high goal for me to just to ride, I know, but this was 6 wks exactly after the knee surgery. All that said, I did have an absolute blast seeing everyone again, and getting back out on a track. I am not quite sure what is more addictive, the riding, or the people at NESBA events. Either way, it makes for an unbeatable combination. So, I'll be out there no matter what times I am running. Heck, I didn't even get the timer out this weekend.

Also, I was reading her post as running 1:30... not as 1:30s. But that I think about it, I was running mid to low 30s, but running a 30 flat would be most likely out of my reach at Grattan. (I was running with people with timers)

I think that there was something like 14 overall regsitrations. We had a few A guys Saturday. We had three A guys on Sunday, myself, a WERA local racer, and a guy named Eddie from Detroit.

With that big a track, passing was no issue whatsoever, so riding with the I group was actually fun. I'd work on passing and set-ups, analyze lines etc...

I did get 28 minutes on the track with only one other guy. I never saw him and literally thought I had the whole track to myself the whole time.

It was nice to get a chance to ride with JonGu, AJ, and Grouch. They were all running high-I/low-A speed anyhow, so it was a total blast. I really had to set up the entrance to the straight perfectly to get past Grouch. That friggin new 600 he has rocks, same for AJs 636.

I had a blast at Grattan, and I would think that the low turnout was due to unpredictable weather at this time of year in central Michigan.

I would definitely ride there again. Hopefully NESBA will do it again, but I doubt it with that turnout. I overheard some track day types say that they wouldn't ride Grattan again until it was repaved, but even I didn't have any pucker moments that weren't my own fault, andf this was only my second track day.
