Track Newbie

I'd like to get back into track days and what not. I've done a dozen or so back in Colorado and want to get some out here.

Are there classes around here? Do I need a trailer or can I ride to the track? Basically just let me know what the easiest to get started.

Thanks

You can ride to the track, and prep your bike upon arrival if you want. We have a few venues with NESBA that are very close to Chicago area.

See http://www.nesba.com We have quite a few people on this board that ride with them on a regular basis. They provide on-track coaching for free and it is a very good group of people. Some of the posters here that are members of NESBA can be found here: https://chicagolandsportbikes.com/for...ad.php?t=40534

Post up if you want to go to an event, if you don't want to ride your bike, you could most likely grab a ride on someone else's trailer to the event.

Make sure to hook up with a Control Rider (CR), they are the guys with orange shirts on the track whose job it is to be a training resource to the members.

Since you are in Lincoln Park, there are many members near you. We are headed to Barber Motorsports this weekend with NESBA.

Glad to hear that you are interested. NESBA provides a FREE intro where you can ride the first two sessions of the day for free if you are interested. Details are on their site.

Yep, or you can do the intro without joining. But you'll have so much fun, you'll wanna pay to stay for the rest of the day!

Just for reference djfm, Chicagoland Sportbikes.com is sponsored by NESBA. Just FWIW.

Anyhow, welcome to the board.
