POST: Autobahn FULL 7/3/05

So what gives folks?!

Post up and tell us how the date was! Rain? Scattered? Rain tire tests? What's the scoop?

From down here (Lake of the Ozarks), the day started out as normal....

Flat mirror like water for as far as I can see, beautiful red sunrise... and of course, your fill of water skiing and wake boarding. Next came the sit down and stand-up JetSkis tank after tank after tank full of fuel.

We are sitting down here sporting tequila drinks and malibu drinks wishing we were out on the track (yes, even if it is raining up there). Sunny, light winds and 92 degrees here btw.

I need to get back out to the water to run another round of KamiKaze Tubing for the guests. We had 7 rounds of heads up competition yesterday, need to narrow it down today to the overall champion.

Cheers all, I'll check in later to see if there is any news.

Signed,

Boat Bum

It wasn't a total loss. Some people took advantage of the situation. Like the guy I saw riding his bike with NOTHING on but his shorts/underware. I assume that was to catch up on some quality shower/bathing time. I was also looking for the soap and shampoo, but I forgot to pack it.

Weather as Blarney said, CRAP!! Basically no track time. The alternative, we could have been home drinking to much, and watching the British Motogp over and over, then falling asleep, but we would have missed Erman on his gold Triumph riding in his swim suit.

Even days like today, it's always a good time with NESBA, thanks to all the people involved!!!

Can't wait for the next one!

Weather cleared up in the end. Got two sessions in towards the end of the day one 30 min session and a short 15 min session. Not a total loss.

1st session was ok, scrubbed the new tires in at least. 2nd session was wet and raining. Thought I'd give it a try to see what it was like. By the end of that session I was slipping and sliding all over the place so I called it a day. Ended up sitting around talking with some friends and then packing up in a steady downpour. Good times!

Sadly, the highlight of my day was the angry Irish dude who failed inspection. His accent was so heavy, it was like watching a scene from Snatch.

Ran 3 morning sessions, 1 damp one and 2 in the rain. Packed up after lunch. Man that 636 is fast! Pulls almost like an SV from 7K up to 10K and then it just keep ons pulling... Just wish it was dry, doesn't really feel like I got any decent experience out on that thing.

Failed Tech...... that would explain why he tore through the paddok like an ass-hat.

What a fool ... people that behave like that should be invited to ride with "The Club That Shall Not Be Named Here"

He failed tech because his chain was rubbing against his tire and swingarm. When he wasn't ripping through the paddock, you could hear it rubbing. It was so obvious, I am surprised that guy even tried to pass tech.
To top it off, during the rider's meeting when they commented on his riding and bike, he was laughing so hard and trying to cover up his laughter, that his face was turning red. I wish that the NESBA associate (forgot his name - guy who replaced Garth yesterday) would have seen him. If it were me, I would have been more than happy to refund him just to send him home.

Yeah the guy was a complete asshat. Idiot was just plain retarded. Unfortunately due to weather, that was all the entertainment I had for the day. The 3 parade laps I did in the pouring rain had me all depressed.

The way that guy went tearing through the paddock should of been enough to send him home. I dont know what I would of done if that guy tagged my kid during his temper tantrum.

What, did he try and put a 200 tire on a 600cc rim or something? A 180 on a stock SV rim will do that too.

I was told that he had a 190 on what should have had a 170. when they lifted his chain up to check how loose it was, it didnt fall back down due to hitting the tire.

That guy ripped right past me after failing tech. I noticed him before that cuz he was bitching about how long it was taking for the NESBA staff to inspect the other bikes. Then I was walking next to him after the riders meeting and he was griping about how could things get any worse. I kept thinking, could get worse if you get asked to leave dickhead.

that guy was great.. I also thought I was stuck between a snatch and brave heart movie... I was waiting in tech next to him... after failing that guy returned back with a rc51 I think and got sent back again to change his numbers cause they didnít match his id.... then I saw him later over by mdr and I believe he fried an ignition module... I believe he was in the I group cause when I was returning I heard some group saying no wonder the session was calm...
