First Trackday questions..

Ok, so I won a trackday at ACC this coming weekend.. I got vinyl from a good friend to cover my lights. Im gonna remove the mirrors, and secure the upper fairing to the stay, (zip-ties).

Im gonna rent a U-haul cargo van, bring my cooler, a lawn chair, my new 2-piece leather suit, gauntlet gloves, boots, a ramp, 8x8 ez-up, some tools and a rearstand. (hopefully I wont need it).....

But my question is, what time am I supposed to arrive at the track? I never got any emails stating what time to get there and set-up or what time rider's meetings are.. Maybe im looking in the wrong places? Could someone point me to the right ones, and recommend anything else I should bring along.

Also, my friend from the vinyl shop made me some numbers, and after reading the NESBA handbook, I wanted you guys to look at them and see if they will pass tech inspection, or if they need to be different. I know the rulebook stated that no special backround or font was needed, and they should be around 6" tall. The outline is silver on black. whatcha think?

it's all in the Nesba handbook that you can download from their site.

To answer your question though, 6:30-7am sounds about right.

Edit...
On page 8 in the handbook it says tech is open at 7am. It doesn't really say what time to get there. Most tracks, unless they allow camping open at 7ish.

your #'s are fine

dont forget gas.

be there by 6:30 and register in the office right after the gate.

find your spot in the pits to call home, go over your bike once again and make sure everything is up to par.

go to bike tech and get checked out.

go back to you pit, relax, start drinking fuilds, walk around get loose, see your friends meet new ones.

listen for the riders meeting in which you must attend, after that youll go to class, and from there have 1 hell of a fun day.

look for me if you need a hand with anything.

HELMET would be nice too...

Anyhow, camping is allowed at the track. Many of us get there the night before, it is just easier than dealing with everything in the AM. Ken usually pits near me, he has a white van, looks like the nice guy he is in his avatar. I have a white 32' trailer, easy to find. We'll all be happy to help ya in any way that we can.

You can call Autobahn and find out what time the gate opens in the morning to confirm.

Don't over look this one! You have to be rested and focused.

A certain unnamed rider from Wisconsin stayed out till 3:00 before his first track day.

He highsided just before lunch. He says it was because of the rain. I say it was his lack of sleep.

Hey Matt! You coming to Autobahn?

Chris, make sure you unplug the wiring harnesses for your lights, it will be a sticky mess if your lights are on underneath the vinyl. Have fun!

HDTony.... Damn glad to meet you!

Good info above Here's a couple of links for ya.

NESBA Rider's Manual

Ride within YOUR limits, and try not to get sucked into "keeping up" with anyone. If you feel nervous, or start having those "oh shit" momments, then back off a bit and regroup. The idea is to have fun and learn as much as you can.

If you have any questions...ask them. The Control Riders will be glad to help you, but you have to ask for it. NESBA is a great organization with lots of great people.

Good luck, and have a blast
