POST: Autobahn South 9/23-24

Day 1 was a bit wet. Just a drizzle in the morning; but just when it looked like we were in the clear it started pouring. All afternoon was a open session with only about 10-15 bikes out, track was slippery in some spots.

Hopefully the track will be dry tomorrow. I'm popping some advil and hitting the sack. On to Day 2....

Oh yeah, Ken has a suprise for the board that you'll love

A bit wet, but still lots of fun. I thought for sure it was gonna hold off, but the sky's opened up during lunch. Morning sessions were going great except for a couple get-offs on the slick sealer areas.

All in all, I had a great time, and the mini-motard racing at the end was awesome! Thanks for everything guys, especially Nolan and Kim that got me pointed in the right direction all day.

I left super early, I only rode 3 sessions and called it a day. Wet track and foggy sheild was not a great combo. Hope tomorrow will get better.

I think people had just as much fun checking out the kart track as riding on the south course. Except for me... I got a flat tire riding through the gravel to get on the kart track.

Hot wings, beer, and fifty's after the last session rocks!

Packing up and heading out for day 2...

Not sure, I took the I-80E exit to 53 south that I always used for getting to Rt. 66 for SCCA events. Just turn west of 53 onto Laraway (sp?) and follow the signs for ACC.

Just got home & unpacked. 1st time at ACC South, but a fun day out there. Great to see CLSB representin strong once again.

Kim & Nolan thanks for the brews and the company.
Nick & Michelle it was nice to meet you both.
Sponge, congrats on devirginizing your knee.
Ron & Brian, thanks for showing me around & for the tips!

The afternoon weather couldn't have been better. It was cold & overcast in the am sessions though and that track is hard to trust when it's cold & damp.

what an awesome day, i love the nesba family, if it wasnt for hanging and chilling and grillen, with all the great people i would have packed up and went home at 11:20, i hate the south track, fucken bumpy, and patchs, slick black top here and there.BLA!!!!

hate it, i had fun with my boys on saturday night drinking and racing the fiddy style with wink, and allen, and matt drucker.

1st me and drucker, matt showing me some NEW race thing figure 8 and we both start at the same, time. i asked? what does that mean then? i have to beat you to the 1st cone.

he said yep! we took off and i crashed his ass out of the lead

a few beers later, me and wink are tearing the fuck out of the pits, and racing and jumping shit, and starting at differant ends racing towards each other. next thing i know i get infront of him as we now cause of the course, powerslide the turns to bring the ass around for the next tight turn. next thing i know he slams into me doing 15mpr? i get a handle bar in my ass, and his face crashing into the back of my head and about tore my left ear off

today was fun as hell. when it was dry and just riding it not trying to set a new record, all i was pulling off was easy going 41's

best one of the say was 40.9 but like i said i hate the course and figured just have some fun.

nice playing with ya nick, and all the homies in A group

well time to go play with the wife for a bit

Well, even though I couldnt be out riding, I still had fun taking pictures. I got 2,136 photos over the weekend, along with another 175 or so that will stay only with me until I get the okay to post them.

I am still debating how to organize the photos, but I am looking into posting them up online so you can just view them and take them from there. The email thing just isnt going to work withthe amount of photos I took. I would be working for a month trying to get photos out to people.

So anyways, glad everyone had a good time. Looks like most everyone (in all groups) kept the shiny side up. Thats always a sign of a good weekend.

Tom took plenty of awesome shots for public viewing, and a few top secret ones that might see the light of day sometime over the winter months.

By the way Tom, we have to get the hosting thing going. PM me and we'll get that done.

Ken, get outta the damn way you friggin slow poke! Loved it when you crashed Drucker out though, and there is evidence

I had a great time riding and ripping it up in the rain on Saturday, and tons of fun riding with MANY CLSBers all weekend. Thanks for a ton of fun everyone!

I had a great time. I didn't ride yesterday, but it was an absolute blast to hang with my friends. Thanks to Ron & Wink for helping me to "get back on the horse." Melissa! It was great to see the new bike. Thanks to Alan for showing me close up how to back it in. Firecat! It was a blast dicing it up with you in the last two sessions. Someone had to play around since Sam didn't even bring a bike. Wus!

What a great weekend, in spite of the weather, which still turned out better than the forecast.
Big thanks to Wink, RonHix, Melissa, and all the CRs and Staff. With your help and instructions I went from inching around the track yesterday morning to passing literbikes in my last session of the day, and dragging my peg in T8!

Can't wait until Putnam...

Ahh... BOOO!!!! I forgot that Wink's laptop is a Macintosh. The CD with the controversial photos unfortunately will not open on my PC. I will have to take it over to my mom's place and open it up on her computer.

what a great weekend!!!

Saturday sucked, but Sunday was great. The Sun came out after lunch and the track was getting stickier as the sessions went by.

Nolan - Blink!!! Thanx for the pit and beer.
Kim - No, there is no bacon flavor Jelly Bean, I checked. Thanx for the pit and beer as well.
Morrand - nice new bike, thank you for the tool box and coffee.
Troy - thank you for all the help and advices, 1lb made a big difference.
Shadrach - We will continue our chase next time.
Tom (vtech eater) - Let's see the "B" love
Jaime - you should have come.
Chris (downforce) - Thanks mang, it worked. It only fogged up by the nose area, not the entire shield.
Nick and Meech - why the doggy does not like me? I said I wouldn't eat her!!! (JK)

Dave (5AXIS) - Thank you so much for the fix on my bike, if it wasn't you, I would not be riding this weekend. Hope Mike's foot is alright. You guys are great and see you guys next year.

Thanks to all the CRs, specially Wink . I worked with Brian on sessions 5 and 6. Brian showed me the line on turn 1 and 2, and suggested me to get my body off the bike more. During the last session, I followed the line, and sat on my left leg, and all the sudden I found myself dragging the right knee and was going at the pace I did not know was possible for me. WHAT A GREAT FEELING THAT WAS!!!!

Thanks every one, what a great weekend it was. I made a promise to end my season with ACC south, I am so tempted to break that promise

I tend to make some ridiculously stupid mistakes at times. Here is the story.

Yes, I had a minor get-off. No damage to me or the bike. I carry two sets of leathers in the trailer. One set I use for rain days. SO... I wore those on Saturday. Come Sunday, I put on the DRY leathers (the other set) and went riding. I worked both Intermediate and Beginner groups, and was having a blast. There were some guys that were running 41s in "I" and they asked me to go run with them. So I did. We ran a couple of laps, picking up the pace as the tires warmed up, and then I started to pick up the pace.

Coming down the back straight into the second chicane (T11), I turn in, put my knee down like always, and happen to catch the inside curbing with my knee at a good speed. WELL... knee down, high speed, and bare velcro all seem to like each other. My knee did not slide, it stopped on the ground. The guy I was riding with said it looked like I got "ripped" clean off the bike. Apparently kneesw slide better on the pacvement if you actually put knee pucks on the leathers. (I am an idiot! Forgot to put pucks on)

Apparently, I forgot to move my knee pucks back to this set of leathers. I wore my back up set of pucks out at Putnam and had to grab a pair off of me second set of leathers. ANYHOW... small get off. I was right back up and running, zero repairs to the bike necessary. I came in re-teched, and went right back out.

I seem to be able to find new ways to crash. Good news, bads news. The good news is I rarely repeat a mistake, the bad news is, there are a lot of mistakes that I haven't made yet.

I just apologize to the guy who was behind me... had to a little bit of a surprise to him
