NESBA BASH - January 27th, 2007

NESBA Bash – Midwest
January 27th, 2007 (5pm)
Durty Nellie’s
180 North Smith Street
Palatine, IL

Well, folks, another NESBA Midwest season has come to an end! We’ve all had a chance to spend some time on various tracks, improve our skills, and get a chance to build new friendships and strengthen old ones. The Midwest has the standing tradition of the NESBA BASH. For those of you unfamiliar with the Bash, this is an opportunity for us all to gather again during the off-season as sort of a mini-reunion and a time to celebrate the past track season. Bring new friends to the Bash and introduce them to the wonderful family that NESBA is, bring your spouse, significant other, or date to the event. Let them meet some of the people that you spend your weekends with. For those of you familiar with the Bash, this is a don’t miss type of event.

CLSB Members are WELCOME!! Come on out and meet and have some fun with all of your fellow folks on the board that participate with NESBA!

Put it on your calendar now, JANUARY 27th, 5pm – 4am.
Main event is 5-10pm, live band starts at 10pm, feel free to drink/party/converse until closing at 4am (they had to kick 20 or more of us out at closing time last year)

Location:
Durty Nellie’s
Directions

We’ll gather for conversation and dinner together. We’ll have the full menu to select from. Plan on being there at 5pm, the biggest comment that we had last year was that we should start earlier. We have a large room reserved that can handle 200 or so folks, which we packed last year. We’ll be running NESBA Midwest track videos, and picture shows of NESBA Midwest riders from this season on three huge projection screens throughout the night (Submit Photos/Videos). Ron Hix will be our live DJ from 5pm-10pm. At 10pm, a live band (band to be announced later) will start up in the room and the room will be opened to folks that buy tickets to see the band. (FREE concert for our folks that are already at the BASH)

We’ll have a private bar (cash) and our own bartenders, waiters and waitresses for the evening. For those of you that are coming from out of town, or those that might want to drink more past the .08 limit in Illinois, we have special rates for lodging at the nearby Holiday Inn Express for you (Directions).

Holiday Inn Express
1550 East Dundee Road
Palatine, Illinois 60074-8311
(847) 934-4900

Beer Menu (for Grouch)

Please put this on your calendar now, and make plans to join us for this event. I’ll be posting a Roll Call thread as the Bash date draws nearer. Please post any comments, thoughts or questions in this thread.

Additional events may also be scheduled the same weekend, for example, last year a group went to CIR for some racing fun.

I'm sure we are all looking forward to seeing everyone, and hopefully getting a chance to meet some new folks!

Sounds like good times I go to that bar once in while and the bands are always great...Ron Hix never thought you would be a DJ that is kick ass. Also the girls that go there are always good looking too and beer is cheap ($6 pichers)!

Also, Nellie's is right next to the Palatine Metra station (Union Pacific NW Line) so it's convient too, although the last train into the city is 10:25PM and the last train to the far NW burbs is 1:24AM.

For those that don't know. "CIR" is Chicago Indoor Racing. It's an indoor facility that hosts high speed cart racing. I hate to call them go carts because they're not some old weed wacker or lawn mower engine tossed into a frame. They have competative leagues and many amateur and professional auto racers do this in the off season. (The guy that won the Roush Racing, Racer X TV show and a pro ride with the Roush team used to come out since he lived in N. Illinois)

If there is interest, please post up or email me and I guess I could arrange this one. It's right by my house so I can go by and get details and pricing. If enough people want to go, we can reserve a block of time.

Let me know if you'd be interested, and if you'd prefer to go the day before, the afternoon before the bash, or the morning after the bash. They do have leagues, so we may have to be flexible in our request. But I think we have plenty of time to sort that out.

For those that don't wish to ride the carts or are bringing family, there is a bar / grill on the second floor where you can watch all the action!
