Google Earth placemarks for all NESBA tracks

I was killing some time checking out the new Google Earth imagery and playing with image overlays, so I created a placemarker file with all of the NESBA Midwest tracks, complete with overlays of the tracks.

If anyone is interested in this, I might do all the tracks for all regions, and then post the file online. Should I bother?

Yeah man, that's cool. FWIW I kinda like it. My Mom and Sister and friends still don't quite understand the racing/track day deal, so this would be good to show them at least the tracks. LOL

Is there a way to register the image so the streets line up right, or does google earth just kind of slap it on?

Many of the track images are not to scale (BHF is wack, for example) so I resized them to match the track as best as possible. I also fixed HPT, so it's much better than pictured above.

Here's the file with all of the Midwest tracks so far. I'll get the rest updated later on.

Download NESBA_Tracks.kmz

Sorry for the lame link, I'm in between hosts right now and have nowhere to upload files.

winter fun

Very cool, I see I am not the only one getting a little goofy from withdrawls.
Try this game. Find this mid west track. It's within 500mi of chicago ( it may be closer but I don't want to make this too easy)

For anyone that downloaded this file, did the image overlays work?

I think I might have screwed that up, working on repackaging the file for version 2.

Just the one for Autobahn, the rest all just take you to the location. Great work so far though!

Actually, I checked the file again it's it's correct. When you open it, only the first folder is selected, so you have to check the boxes in front of the items to get them to appear on the map. But all the image overlays are pcakged in the KMZ file correctly.

I haven't gone through it to check everything, but all the image overlays I've looked at seem to work.
