Whats your problem? (New season goals)

The new season is almost here.

I was just thinking and dreaming about what to work on and where I want to ride. What do I want to achieve before the end of this riding season.

1. Continue to progess in being smooth and consistent
2. Work on corner speed
3. Learn to better feel what the bike and tires are telling me
4. Try atleast one new track
5. Introduce atleast one new person to the world of track riding
6. Keep my butt off the pavement as much as possible
7. Have as much fun as last year
8. Enjoy riding with the greatest group of people that ever shared the track

Hopefully developing these skills will help me get to the next level.

I made so many new friends and had such a great time last year. It was my first year of track riding. Nesba and it's members far exceeded my expectations. I learned so much about riding. I sometimes have to laugh to myself when I see the new riders in line for their first day. They're so confident becuase they've been riding on the street so long. Then about lunch time they realize how different track riding is. By the end of the day, they've learned so much and accepted that they have so much more to learn. They're already talking about their next track day. Reminds me of myself on my first trackday. Maybe next year someone will post something just like this. The cycle continues...........

I want to learn how to brake
I want to learn how to corner
I want to learn how to accelerate
I want to learn how to pass
I want to learn to move my body the right speed and the right amount
I want to learn to be more deliberate on the track
I want to learn how to share what I know and what I am learning with others

That's it, another year of learning, as I suspect they all will be.

Here's to everyone helping each other grow and improve, and here's to introducing more friends to our passion.

Crashing is underrated, there is plenty to learn there as well!

If you don't think about it, it won't happen. Like when you hide under your covers as a kid. The boogie man can't get you if he can't see you.

If my goal were not to crash, that would be an easy goal. I'd just be even slower.

Going faster may be a by product of my above list. Unfortunately, so may crashing.

This will be my first whole season doing track riding and I find that the wait seems to get harder and harder everyday. Despite having done only one track weekend in November, I can say that NESBA far exceeded my expectations even before I made it out the track. Not only was everyone I met passionate about riding fast and riding safe, but they were helpful and supportive and I felt I could fit right in. I hope to keep improving my skills, make more friends, and do for others what NESBA has done for me.

I think Ron made it to 2:30 last year, or real close. Ron pulled me to a 2:32.xx... I was going 2:35 before that. It is so much easier to RUN when you got a rabbit in front of ya, or a hound behind ya.

Looking forward to your help this year! I had a blast chasing ya last year.

my biggest goals are to be smooth everywhere and consistent, along with that i will add going to new tracks (2 or 3), meeting new people, spreading the NESBA love that i've received so much of, and just having a good time doing it, thats what this is all about

Going for my most extensive season yet, 12-14 days. Hopefully more seat time and a short amount of time between track days will help my development. Narrowing down the "needing to work on" list from everything to something more specific...

1.) Smoother downshifts / proper gear selection on corner entry.
2.) Get lower on the bike. I am having my back protector altered in hopes that it won't shove my helmet over my eyes when I lay on the tank. I think this has either been part of the problem or a convenient excuse.
3.) Get my upper body over more in conjunction with being lower.
4.) Pick the throttle up sooner and a little harder.
5.) To get video taped by a chase rider at least once at each track so I have something to study.

That should be enough to keep me busy for awhile. Of course I am open to the CR’s critiques and what they think I should be working on as well.
