tire life ?

This is silly question.

I have BT014 tires that have been through ~5 track days (B group) . not been paranoic replacing tires every other track event, are there good wear indicators to look for ?

And yes, when the bike starts sliding around - I'm usually done for the day so, this test is out of the question ....

Thanks !

5 trackdays + XX street miles + sitting around all winter = Time for new rubber.

For the fun (and expense) of a trackday, why risk cutting it short because you don't trust your shoes?

Another way to think.....

How much does new rubber cost?

Now, look at your bike and see much it takes to equal that amount if you crash ? Trust me... it isn't that much.

There are wear indicators on the tires. However, if you have no confidence, get new tires. If you are happy with them for the street, keep em, and get a set of track day tires.

I don't use the bike on the street. But after seeing race takeoffs for sale , I was wandering if there were any criteria to dispose of the old set . I mean, even takeoffs looked ok to me.

Some take offs are like new, the ones that I buy are. It all depends on your pace.

On a group ride...he had a brain fart, gassed up with diesel...opphs. There was a slight delay as the diesel was drained from his system.
