As good a place as any to announce it, I guess:

Showing Saturday night at Blackhawk Farms: Sidewinder 1, featuring Marjoe Gortner, Michael Parks and Susan Howard.

When veteran motocrosser Digger (Gortner) gets tapped by Gentry Motors chief Packard Gentry (Alex Cord) to ride their new bike, the Sidewinder 1 ("a tricked-out Maico", according to IMDB), he finds that the factory is totally clueless about building a competitive machine. Can Digger turn their dog of a bike into a champion? Can he stand to work with Packard's daughter, Chris (Howard)? Will Chris ever learn what WFO means?

See for yourself, and watch Sidewinder 1, playing for one showing only at Blackhawk Farms. Saturday, June 14 at about 8:30 PM (or whenever it gets dark enough) in back of the tire shed. Rated PG. Admission price is one chair (i.e., free movie, but you'll need something to sit on). The movie may be preceded by a short feature, depending on whether I remember to bring it or not.

This showing is all my own doing, and has not been sanctioned or sponsored by Blackhawk Farms Raceway or the Northeast Sportbike Association.

Truly, this movie is so good, it's never (as far as I know) been released to video or DVD and I've never seen it listed on TV. So don't miss your chance to see Marjoe Gortner in 1977's feel-good motocross movie, Sidewinder 1.
