how the hell....

How the hell do I end up spending $1k on stuff just a couple of weeks before my last track weekend. And that doesn't even include the fees for the track weekend and the new trailer restraint I may buy. Its going to be nice to have money in the off-season.

You are kidding yourself. The off-season is when you do bigger time consuming more expensive projects.

$1k? That's it? What'd you get?

I got me E-racing plastics in the mail but that's nowhere near what you spent...

I think after this I need to start saving....

for tyers and track days.

1k...that was just for bodywork and rearsets.

I still have $300 in putnam fees, $300 for a pit-bull trailer restraint, and $100 for a back protector. All which I'll buy this week probably.

Then I get the joy of buying tire warmers and a generator.

body work? as in race plastics? What'd ya get?

I guess I could spend $1k on all that, but I went cheapo on the plastics, $400 shipped complete set. Was hoping to find some rearsets in the $300 range or possibly eGay used.......

Got any ideas what your doing for your paint scheme yet Mort?

I'm going to rock just the primer at putnam and paint mine over the winter. Hopefully I come up with something cool.

I like it, but the yellow seems a bit manly, try a baby blue or something.
Think Shelly will help me paint mine????

Right now I'm considering doing a replica, but it will be hard as hell. I'll probably do some type of spin-off design if I don't come up with anything else.

I wouldn't spend a fortune on a crazy paint job, unless your planning on getting tv air time. It is after all a track bike, and track bikes have a tendency to seek out pavement from time to time. Use that money on stuff you need....like my list for the winter.

-new bodywork + paint job
-pcIII + custom map
-quickshifter
-full titanium exhaust
-slipper clutch
-520 chain conversion + new sprockets
-fairing bracket
-spare wheels

...I know the list is longer, but that's just to name a few. So don't feel bad about 1k. It's only money.

I look at it this way, when ya can't go as fast as you, we just try to look like we can

I'm planning to rattle can my bike. I might come out there one day with a colorful rainbow on it.

So just to add on to the expenses, I purchased the pit bull trailer restraint today.

Tony had a good recommendation for my bike. He said I should go with a "ghetto racing" theme. He calls my setup "ghetto Racing" because I have such a shitty ghetto setup with my shit hole trailer and stuffing my 300 full of shit.

if that's the case, why did you go with something nice like a pitbull trailer restraint when obviously a 2x4 would have sufficed or better yet, just not using anything like I used when I rocked out the honda prelude - harbor freight trailer combo. That is until I upgraded 732 fold and stepped up to the legendary s10 hood scoop edition.

if you're going to go for the ghetto racing, you also should have bought beat to piss plastics and whatnot. sounds to me like you're crossing over into a substantiated track day effort and I don't know if I like it or not.

And thanks for the ghey post on my youtube.

why thank you, I would be willing to part with it for the right price, but seeing the rarity and true heart that's gone into the customization, I would take no less than a small fortune.

Steve, I took morts idea and ran with it a bit and put some custom stickers on there just for you. Let me know what you think, it's a bit rough yet, but you get the idea.

25k...that's a little excessive if you didn't buy a car. I'm somewhere between 10-12k.

Matt, I like your ideas and I'll have to consider them. Just for the record i too am pimpin the harbor freight POS trailer and I currently am using 2x4s for my make shift bike chock. Oh and the wiring isn't working, I have a busted tailight, and my license plate fell off.

Tony said even with the pit bull trailer restraint that costs more than my trailer, I'm still pimpin the "ghetto racing" setup.
