2008 NESBA Bash (Starter Thread)

Ok folks, so I am getting ready to put this together for this years Bash again.

I can hold it where we have had it before or move it to a new location.

What we are looking for is the following:

Our own area (at least for a few hours)
Bar right there
Food available
Ability to DJ our own event
Multiple Projection screens for showing Pictures of the 2007 Season
Late hours and they like nut case crowds
Can handle up to 250 people
Does not require pre-pay or facility rental
Availability of a Saturday night in February
Microphone so that we can do give aways.

(anything else I should add?)

Location: Chicago Suburbs

I have held it at Durty Nellie's the past two years and can hold it there again if we wish. (I already have a date there reserved) It does fit all the above criteria, although it would be nice to have our own space past 10pm.

We normally have about 200 folks.

Suggestions?

Durty Nellies really works out perfectly. i could not think of some place that would be better. good food, great parking aval., fast bar, and always a good time.

North Beach sucks for an event like the nesba bash.

I think Kens driving this year. I drove last year

Just make sure there's feather boa's and garbage cans available for matt and alex

Dirty nellies is fine. I also can not think of a better place but I will keep mulling it over.

Anywhere that we can DJ. The live band is nice, but we don't have anywhere we can talk or even hear. I wish someone would learn how to run an audio sound board in Chicago, other then me.

It's kick ass..and huge. I live 5 mins from there...so if we did it there I don't mind opening the house as the random drunk crash pad. Pukers must find their own crash pad!

That being said...I still love Nelly's!

That was my only issue with Dn. It would be nice to have "our" area, where we can play without dumping garbage cans on regular customers. And just hang out, and talk a bit too.

I like Nellies. However, the music was a bit loud at first. (I am old). Would it be possible to have the ability to just hang out and talk a bit etc with out the loud music being the focal point but rather just as background.

Wink, thanks for taking up the slack with this. If possible could we make more of a banquet/awards night for like 30 minutes. I have some items that I will contribute for drawings etc.

Again thanks to the MEMBERS.

No prob Garth. I was planning another giveaway period like the last time and a drawing for items. It would be cool to add some fun and/or serious awards as well. Count on it, then.

I think we'll ask what they can do to give us some tables OUTSIDE of the main band room that are ours when the band starts up. I'd prefer to be able to continue to talk as well.

Could you please start this discussion on the NESBA board as well. Ireally like Nellies and by the time the band goes on we should have our agenda completed. Just would like to have a more "structured" event for awhile that is all. You know something more NESBA at least for 2 hours. After that, game on. Thanks dude. G
