Uhaul trailers (8/30 BHF rideshare)

Well it looks like nobody really has any open trailer spots and there is an abundance of people that need a trailer ride up to the track.

So I was thinking since I'll have to rent a trailer and borrow a tow vehicle anyway, might as well see if anybody else wants to go in on it. I can supply a vehicle with hitch, so we'll just have to rent a trailer from uhaul or something. Not sure how that works I've never done it before but I'm assuming it'll be like $20/day. I think they only trailers with ramps they have are small and will only hold 2 bikes, but maybe somebody can chime in.

I'm only going up for Saturday so if you're riding Sunday I can't really help. Also I'm in Woodridge (near naperville). I have tie down straps for my bike, you'll have to supply straps for your bike.

like i said in the other thread, im lookin at 1-2 bikes (depending on if i can repair mine in time). if anything we can ride 1 down there. were riding sat only but hoping to stay until sun morning (theres a chili event sat night from what i hear). were in mt prospect, off a 294 exit. we have a ghetto-rigged ramp if the trailer doesnt. takin about 2 other cars for supplies, willing to chip in for rental or w/e. lemme know if we can work something out

I plan on attending the chili cookoff as well, but even if I don't, you probably don't need your bike there to eat chili lol..

Does anybody know what size uhaul is needed for 3/4 bikes? Also do we need a ramp or does the uhaul have a ramp?

Hey man, be careful w/ U-Haul reservations bec. they screw those up alot from wut i've heard...including mine this past weekend for autobahn.
I reserved a 5x8 trailer for 2 days (pickup fri night, return sat aftertrack) 1 week in advance and they said they would call me back a day before the pickup date to confirm. When I got the call, I find out that the trailer i'm suppose to get is for Fri only! Then they said they would fix it...but I tried calling them the day of pickup and they didnt answer. So I ended up having to rent last minute from River Rand...thank god they had 1 trailer available.

So beware w/ U-Haul

ive had multiple problems w/the arlington heights uhaul too but i wont waste this thread on that. i know a 6x12 will fit 3 bikes easy, 4 if youre ambitious. its the largest trailer they have, doesnt come w/ramp. if anything my buddy works in downers grove, he can maybe drop off our wooden ramp w/you?

Haha, well i only have one bike, but two cars (mine and my roommate), single car garage + driveway space for one. So that's bike at the back of the garage, my car in front of that, then my roommates car in the driveway. I'm working on talking my uncle into storing a trailer for me, but so far it's been tough.

Well i've been looking around and buttrey rental has some nice trailers for rent. Thinking about getting the 7'x10' enclosed motorcycle trailer with ramp door. It's $65/day so if somebody wants to go halfs on it, that'd be cool. Obviously need it for two days, friday and saturday. Just seems like a lot better place to deal with than uhaul plus a way better trailer that will be safer for the bikes.

I have been using Uhaul’s single open trailer without issue so far, although the person who works there is very layback so I hope he doesn’t screw me up this time. The price is unbeatable ($15 + $5 to insure).
Another option I know is AMS rental but they are more expensive and probably far from you. http://www.arlingtonmotorsportsinc.c...er_rentals.htm
I am going on 8/30 only but I have an uhaul single bike trailer reserved already, I was able to get away with one day rental last time (pickup/return at 7:30pm)
