Barber Videos - Oct 11/12

Okay...I finally got my videos downloaded, converted to WMV format, and hosted on Google Video. I've still got two videos from Sunday that I'll get done tonight. I had some operator error issues on Sunday, and I left the video camera zoomed after luch/quiet time. Some of the best sessions are now garbage.

This was my first time ever at Barber, so the first three are painfully slow, but at least you get a good look at the track and scenery while you wait on me to hit the throttle. There were WAY too many red flags on Saturday. So many that the director had a second rider's meeting, and ultimately sent quite a few people home for rule violations. Once I got the track layout and flow down, I realized that Barber is now my favorite track. I only wish that I lived closer so I could ride it more often.

Session-6/7 I had some nice open track, but session-7 didn't end well for one of the riders, and almost me. He's okay except for a scraped up bike/leathers.

Thanks again to the Lockhart crew for setting up the ride share down to Barber. It was a blast!

Yes...I should go fast through there. Sunday afternoon was MUCH better. I finally just started going down to 3rd gear versus 2nd, and it was so much smoother. I got a lot of pointers from the Lockhart's and some of the CR's. They only had about 4 CR's for 40+ riders in Intermediate. :

Sunday morning, one of the B riders lost his drain plug coming into T1, and laid a nice trail through there. They got it cleaned up, but we lost a whole session from it, and the confidence level just wasn't there for a while as you laid it over going across the kitty litter.

Just playing with you.....I know I was going slow as hell into T1 till my 4th day at Barber.....it's one of those super fast turns that just look slow from the braking zone.
The Lockhart's helped me a lot with form, lines etc as well....they are good people.
Barber has always had a shortage of CR's it seems....atleast for the 2 times I've been down there.
Here is some video I took in August

I don't really start hitting my lines till after I get past traffic....which is hard work to get around on a 13 yr old 600 but immensely enjoyable.

Nice video! We need to get whole crew of people going down there next year. That would be a blast to show up with about 20 people. The CR's would freak out.

Great having you along Jim. I have no doubt we will be going back to Barber next season. And while Barber is a great package, you need to ride Topeka, I find that it is much more interesting than Barber.

Cool vids.
