Post Blackhawk June 6-7

Good times as always. Rain held off til noon on Saturday. Today on the other hand was really nice. This morning was overcast but then the sun burned through and the track was hot all day. I had a lot of fun working with some CLSB folks. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the next event.

Nolan, thanks again for working with me. Thanks also to Wink for helping me learn the right lines, and the CR I don't know who recommended me for the bump. Good times!

Hey Matt we have the exact same suit!

I'm taking the same path as Shaugdog, doing my first trackday with STT then another sometime in the near future with NESBA. From the looks of that picture and what everyone else is saying, it looks like he is learning very quickly and doing very well.

Congrats Matt on your bump - it was well deserved! You were moving out there!

I had a great weekend, learned a bunch of new stuff about the 750, really worked on my line in each turn and finally feel competent in each one (if I do them right, that is ) Now, as Nolan (and everyone else) says, I just need to love the gas a little more .

The NESBA gang also helped us acquaint our bulldog, Brutus, to track weekends. We were afraid he would not do well, but everyone was so nice and treated him like family. He had a great time, got lots of attention, and has been sleeping like a rock since he got home. Thanks everyone . Oh, and Greg, sorry about the face sliming incident...

I had to skip Saturday but had lots of fun on Sunday. Had a very laid back, flowing day working on body positioning and smoothness, resting in straightaways. Start going a bit quicker in the last couple of sessions.

Nolan, thanks lot for showing me the lines again! I couldn't keep up for the last couple of laps because I was getting tired, but that was fun

I'm hurting all over today, found new muscles in the legs and ass and those fuckers hurt . I think I need to start working out, being out of shape I can only nail a couple of corners with a proper body position and then have to slow down.

My new hauler (the Astro van) worked out well. Except for little SNAFU with the frickin' alarm blaring and not willing to shut off / quickly finding a screwdriver and disconnecting the frickin' siren, it was great. Call me the ASTROnaut

beac83, Kim, Greg, Wink and others - it was nice to meet you!

shaugdog, congrats on the bump!

I have these two of you and Ian.

Yeah, plus i was just out slowly going down my street trying to figure out the brakes and got pulled over in front of my house

Officer: "Can I see your license"
Me: "umm, well it's actually upstairs right now" (pointing to my unit)
Officer: "Why don't you have a license plate"
Me: "it's in the garage" (pointing to my open garage door)
Officer: "do you care to explain?"
Me: "I was at the race track this weekend and have been having some problems with the brakes, I was just out trying to get that sorted."
Officer: "So this isn't a street motorcycle, track only?"
Me: "no, it can be driven on the street, i just haven't put all the lights, mirrors, plate, etc on yet.
Officer: "Ok, i'll let you go this time, but if I see this bike on the street again you will be in a world of trouble"

So now i gotta spend atleast an hour converting the bike over so i can roll down my street

Was wondering how long it would take you to see it.

Don't feel bad, I miss apexes all the time. I swear they're scared of me. That's what I keep telling Wink and Hix anyway. It keeps the other riders guessing where I'm going, and keeps me from getting passed as much.

J/K - I really do try for the apexes, but I'm still learning too. You'll get there soon enough. Looks like your body position is pretty good though.

We are still trying to hit apexes, it just seems to get harder every time on the track.

Turn 4 is tricky to apex correctly sometimes. He actually did better through there than the picture portrays.
