Post Putnam 6/13-14

What a great weekend at the track!

Although the weather forecast was a bit sketchy for the weekend, I loaded up and headed down. The weather forecast was wrong, and we had two days of perfect track weather!

Putnam is a great flowing track, and the clear dry weather made for a fast and trouble-free weekend. With the help of Wink, Matt, and others I was able to break through some mental barriers and really pick up the pace a lot. Riding both days allowed me to really lock in the gains.

Saturday morning the sun came out early and promised a clear, dry day. We were not disappointed. I got a tow from Wink that showed me how much more I can do, and some more encouragement to just do it. Saturday afternoon was a fast track as we all picked up the pace.

Saturday night after 6, it rained for a bit, that kind of light rain that leaves things damp but not overly wet. Dinner in Greencastle with many of the folks from the track and the after-dinner bench racing at the campground finished the day off nicely.

Sunday morning dawned with a bright red sunrise as we waited for the gates to open, but the clouds burned off by the time the track went hot and the rest of the day was sunny and warm. CR Matt G followed up on the things we had worked on together at RA earlier in the week, and altogether I made a lot of improvement. I'm still absorbing all that I learned and looking forward to building on it next time at Blackhawk.

Turn One Racing came through with parts and advice once again, making them even more awesome in the level of service and support they provide.

Props to Wink, Matt, Steve B and the rest of the CR's and my fellow riders for offering up their knowledge, advice and encouragement. It's a joy to ride with you guys. I really like Putnam and will be back in September to ride it again.

Lots of CLSB'ers out with us this weekend, including Kim and Nolan, Fracker, Wink, Bfly and others. Good to see everyone at the track. See you all at Blackhawk July 4 & 5. Come on out and join us!

Craig

Glad to see that you were ok both times. Your lines were looking great the first half of that last session. Looking fwd to riding with you again soon.

Great Quote - One would think that the Secret Service was smart enough to get serviced secretly.

Great to be back with the NESBA family! Had a bit of a rough start (first weekend this season) but ended on a high note and can't wait for the next track weekend!
