Yamaha warrior

I'm thinking about buying a used Warrior. Anything I should look out for? My price range is limiting me to years 03-06. Do they have any known issues? I don't know much about the warriors, except that I like everything I've read about them.

I haven't heard too much negative stuff about them, but that is not my cup of tea. A buddy of mine had one not too long ago, and it was a solid bike. It had decent power and handling. Also, I love the blue indigo gauges on that bike- they look incredible at night! For the price, the bikes look pretty damn sharp. If I was going to go down the 'cruiser' route (I use that term loosely cuz they have more of a hot rod feel to them), then I would give the Warrior some serious consideration.

I'm guessing you mean the bike? They are bad-ass cruisers, they were just in the Smart money section of Motorcyclist magazine recently, check that out. They always list the good and the bad. My friend had one and I loved to ride it. The only problem he ever had was from the license plate holes ripping from all of the fender vibration. Not kidding, it bounces like crazy. They can be had for fairly cheap in those years too. Good luck, great bike.

Great bikes, the only problem I foresee is the fact that their rear tires are grossly undersized. I'll part with my M109r for 8.5k though and that problem will be solved.

I thought having a skinnier tire would help handling. I've seen a few with a 240 rear, is it mostly for looks? I like a fat rear tire, but I like good cornering better.

Have there been any major changes throughout the years? Like should I look for an 05 instead of an 04 for any reason?

I'll post on the cruiser forum too, more traffic here though. Thanks for the help so far

Chicagolandcruisers.com has alot of local riders with those bikes. With extensive mods done to them. But there is also this site- http://rswarrior.com/. And they talk nothing but the bikes from the day they were built, tho 09 where it appears they won't be making any for 2010. They know it all there. I have been researching them myself for quite a while. Seem pretty much bullet proof

...plus my gf was with me saying "omg slow down, slow down" and I was thinking "Lose annoying squalk box in passenger seat, afford more mods and have less weight in the car and on the back of the bike"...so i dumped her and I'm single again as usual...HERE KITTY KITTY!!!

I had an 02 I sold a couple of years back. I took it down to the dragon. For a cruiser it is about the best handling one out there. I loved it, except for the riding position. I wasn't as fond of the feet forward position. That was really my only gripe. Nice bike, lots of power down low. Like Thunderstruck said, check out rswarrior.com. A wealth of information w/ good people.

I am a big fan of Warriors and almost bought one a few years ago. If I were to get a cruiser, that would be the one. Another vote for rswarriors.com for great info.

Am I being cheap, or are these people asking a bit too much?

04 warrior - dropped and repainted, 4000 miles on the tires (12k overall), exhaust, and power commander. $6500

05 midnight warrior - great condition, low miles, and V&H exhaust painted black. $7500

Neither one seems to want to move much on the price either. They are hard to find used, but those prices seem high for 5 and 6 year old bikes.

They are pricey and as you said hard to find. Throw in the fact that people think they have gold mines and it's all over. Go by kbb and nada and then go from there. Keep looking if you have to. They are ou there

I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin', and hook up with them later!!
