I bet it is a large conspiracy by the japanese motorcycle makers to cause harley sales to go down. You know, since harley makes sport bikes.

HD also had a recall on their GPS devices. The owners of the bikes claimed it was hard to follow the oil leak while returning home from a destination.

It's required to have an M-Class for Trikes now. Last week a guys wife made him trade in his new Electra Glide Ultra Classic for a trike because SHE wasnt comfortable!!! I was like, huh

$12,000,000 divided by 251,000 bikes = $48 each. That can't be. If they sold HOG owners the same kit they would probably charge $200. There's not that much of a markup, is there?

This is really bad news especially since most H-D riders only use the rear brake anyway.

And that story about the wife making him get a trike. OMFG.

If you ain't with us, then it's just bad news.

Unlike sportbikers who only use the front brake?? There is a LOT more weight in the cruisers. The rear brake is essential in stopping a large bike. The front brakes don't have the effectiveness that the sportbike brakes do. Ever try to do a stoppie in a Ultra Classic??

We had a customer trade in his Goldwing 1800 on a Spyder for the same reason.

What's with all the hate?

As far as the folks trading in for three wheeled cycles, its a shame, but there is a positive outlook on that as well. Those gentelman enjoy riding with their wives and will be able to continue doing so. it is a compromise they made, and it works for them, it's not like they were trading in gsxrs, so their riding style will most likely not suffer too much.

Peace!

Greg

If this burning desire to say something is addressed at my post, well then my question stands, what's with all the hate?

I'll be anxiously awaiting your alcohol enhanced internet muscles to be flexed.

I don't need alcohol to "flex", trust me. And I am not hating, just stating my opinion and facts. I witness this BS first-hand ALL THE TIME on a weekly basis being in the industry. You have no idea how many miserable men I have come across because their partner hates or has no interest in motorcycles.
"I have to sell my bike cuz I'm getting married"
SO DON'T GET MARRIED
"My wife/girlfriend doesn't like motorcycles, so I have to get rid of it"
GET RID OF YOUR WIFE/GF
"My girl says we can't afford the bike anymore"
GET RID OF HER

Being with a rider/racer is a pre·req·ui·site for ME because it makes life so much easier when you share the same interests and passion. That's my own personal choice, so to each their own. I just don't wanna hear the whining when SHE gripes about it. I would NEVER ask someone to give up something they love and I sure as well wouldn't give it up for any man. And I sure as hell don't expect you to ask my permission to buy it or ride it. It's not about hate, it's about principal. The non-riding wife is not always going to be with him. So now this guy, who loved his Ultra Classic so much, is going to have to ride around with his buddies lookin like a ritard because his wife wasn't comfortable on the back of the two-wheeler and didn't like when he put his feet down at a stop.

AND THIS CONCLUDES OUR DISCUSSION
