(HD THREAD) which slip on that won't require remapping etc.

After hours of research I really like those CFR slip on's but after calling the company they require mapping which means a EFI controller.

Fuck that noise right now. All I want is a louder exhaust that's deep.

I am
Fucken ready to just start drilling holes in the bitch I Am so fustrated.

You don't need to remap, but any slip on will perform better with it.

+1 on not really needing to remap. All changes that effect back pressure technically require remapping or jetting if you are carbed, but it is a HD so who cares...

I'm tired, with a louder = less back pressure exhaust it will run a little lean, right?

OK, coffee is working and last night's Wodka is going away.

The most potential for damage comes when it's lean at the top and you get detonation. Most HDs smell like they run rich anyway. It's almost like the factory expects you to ditch the stock exhaust. How black are the ends of your pipes?

They got carbon build up. So stock is not that lean.

Just learned (rush) is the way to
Go. Baffle size 2" is what I am looking for and requires no remapping.

ody do a plug chop (the 2 stroke gp bike guys did this to evaluate mix condition from what ive read) rather than relying on soot buildup on the pipe tips, Id think that stuff would gether mostly when the exhaust velocity is low at low engine speeds

Talked to
Rhinehart guess there is no need for mapping on there's.

Reason is 2010 and up have cats installed. Don't matter baffle size cause the
Cat is so restrictive it doesn't matter. Makes me wonder why the CFR slip on guys said YES I need to map.

I still have dOubt. Makes me want to say fuck it all
Together. I need to go mingle with some hog heads and get hands on info and listen test.

I have Rush muflers on mine, 2007. They run good. They are a lot louder. Some popping on deaccelleration is heard. Went without re-mapping for about a year with no problems. That included a trip into the Rockies. I now have the controller and the high flow air cleaner.

you do not need to remap with slip or hell any exhaust change for that matter you will only ahve to do this with an intake (stage 1) and exhaust change... even so you can simply upload a new map for that though SERT, power comander, or have your ECM re flashed at the dealer... but just slips no reason to map

^ good to know I was really considering these but those CFR's sound so badass!!!

You tube it.

I think I might call them again to see if I get the same answer for just slip on's. (CFR) maybe they thought I meant full system. A women returned my call. So right now and even then I am thinking ahhh maybe I should talk to a guy. Lol

Well ordered the CFR slip on's last night. I'll be installing them Friday. Hope it all goes well. Sound and no lean issues. I'll be keeping an eye on my spark plugs for lean indications.

Omg I love the sound. No engine, throttle, acceleration or deceleration issues.

Night and day differance! It doesn't sound like all the typical loud raspy tin cans. It's monster deep, chest pounding thumping when you get on it. Throttle blips, power shifting up
Or down and ripping ass through the gears turns heads. Even other Harley guys are like Wtf way cool.

Closest thing it sounds like is like a supped up
Muscle car bike powered by a Vtwin.

I am happy with them.
