Out With The Old........

..... and in with the new(er) Roller

Strange Saturday indeed - Went in to look for a few parts and ended up rolling home on the below - '05 Soft Tail Deluxe with 5400 miles on it and plenty of tasteful Mods to it (Full V&H Straight Shots with Stage 1, Windshiled, Rear Sissy Bar, tons of nibbly bits, etc etc) - Glenview HD was cool to me on the value of my old '99 (hard to value that chopped up sum bitch) but I knew what i could list it at and what i could get for it on the street vs a dealer and they came in with a fair "take it off your hands for" cost as well as got me on the '05 at a very good price

I was kind of "over" my '99 and wanted something for longer rolls - That and I was starting to see more and more "like" mine out there and even HD is making them that way now too - I test rode a Street Glide and just could not dig on the whole "couch" aspect of it - Super comfy but not my style of a ride - Did not even feel like I was on a bike - Looked at a Road King too but did not want to spend Road King Cash - Same with the Electra Glide - Saw the Deluxe, liked that it was not "Black" and it grew on me - Rode it, loved it, bought it - Whole diff look and ride - I now put Grey Poupon on EVERYTHING

Put over 200 miles on it yesterday and am not in the least bit of pain - The Dyna hurt after 50 miles or so

Yes Stan, over the winter I still want to hunt down a Scrambler

Looks good dude. One thing I noticed about my Harley is that the bike is basically wash and dry. No polishing involved. The crome stays shiny and no need to polish. I was my bike one a week as its my daily driver and I want to keep it looking showroom clean.

I like the bike Eddie except for the passanger backrest and rack. Is that a quick detach?

Yes and it is already off - I took this pic as I got off it upon docking - I had some goodies bungied to it on the roll home

I am really liking this thing - In the Sun, the Blue gets real light and without, it looks dark - Cool shade indeed

Ha, yes, all the "Luxuries" - Took me about a half an hour to stop throwing up hand signals on turns and start using the blinkers - Still do over the shoulder and always forget about the mirrors and this Speedometer thing is whacky -You actually now at what rate of speed you are traveling?

What? - You mean a brake light only visible from one side of the bike, no mirrors or turn signals and no speedometer? - Bah, minor details

Weird not so see the engine vibrating out of the frame too......

Nice. Hds always have been an 'easy' ride. Forgiving clutch, nice saddle, auto canceling turn signals... Always felt like a Buick.

Congrats on the new bike!

Tell me about it - Never in a mil years would I have thought to even look at one like this - Especially since I came off the below rattle box (did love it though) and onto this Beach Cruiser

Thx for all the kind words ladies - I know many here don't "get" Harley Turds and that is okay - Over the years, I have come to love 'em and dont miss the fast bikes at all - I do miss MX though......

Ha - She had no idea until I called her and said, "Come Out Side for a second" - She does love it and is excited to be able to roll 2 up

Saw the Harlows at the MCC Bike Show yesterday and we laughed at you because you were not there - Mike Jr said Ryan is just fast as hell now

In all Honesty, they have some pretty cool old school retro bikes out now in the $10K range - They have one on the floor like this with Higher bars and an exhaust and it is pretty damn cool looking
