V-Star Classic 650cc?

I've been contemplating on getting another bike so my gf has a more comfortable ride and I can dedicate my bike soley to the track. Well, a lady I work with might be moving and her husband owns a V-Star Classic (650cc). It has very low miles and has no damage to it at all. I was thinking if I could get it for around $2500, I would jump on it. He's had it for sale for a long time, but it's never been advertised. What do you guys think? Or should I save my money to pay off my R6?

Seriously It can haul you guys around but if you ever try and use the throttle for anything more than puttsing away from a light you will be disappointed. Never buy a cruiser under 1000CC's Unless it a kick ass deal and you can turn around and sell it on ebay for a profit, then go buy a new one.

HDTony.... Damn glad to meet you!

Doc....we are in the same boat. Looking for a cheap metric cruiser; need more comfort and practicality for the wife.

I've been mulling over buying a neighbor's Honda Magna 750. Im pulling the trigger though since Im selling the RC.

He still has that for sale? You could probably buy it off him for a decent price.

If I can get that 650 for $2500, I might jump on it. It's just for cruising around town. Not for posing. I'm not going to be picky w/ the acceleration, etc. Although, I say that now.

The GS550 we own has enough spunk for 2 up(a little cramped though), I don't see the 650 being all that bad.

Test ride it for an afternoon and see how you like it. Even the new Magnas felt anemic when I was helping a friend look a year or two ago. I guess when you get used to the XX...

Don't do it. For 2 you have to go bigger. Not even for fast acceleration or nothing like that but just for balance....Also with lower CCs you will end up working too hard to turn the thing and keep it were you want it...imo
