exhaust for 1977 honda cb 550 four k

Im in the process of fixing up a 77 honda cb 550 four k, posted here b/c im not sure if it would be considering a "sport bike" by todays standards., but the pipes are shot , and they are the individual pipes , (not 4-2-1 header and mufflers), and i cant find replacements anywhere, no honda places carry them or can get them. i was curious if there was a way to have someone fabricate a header and make it single or dual exhaust instead of quad exhaust , could i use mufflers off of a sport bike of today? or should i just go with straight pipes (whatever fits basically) thanks .

edit pulled it out of storage today and its a 550 four k not cb 650

I've been racking my brain for the name of the owner's site for all those bikes. Tons of good info on there. I know there are aftermarket companies that have 4 into 2 and even 4 into 1 options for those bikes (it was a big cafe racer mod back in the day I guess). For the original 4 into 4 replacements you might be better off hunting on eBay.

If I can think of that owners board (for the cb550-750's) I'll let you know.

Good luck!
