I'm Baaaack

Well, 6139 miles total. From Chicago to Sturgis, Yellowstone, Alpine Wy., Bonneville Salt Flats UT., Reno NV., San Fransisco CA., Santa Cruz CA., Fresno CA., Bakersfield CA., Hollister CA.(Had a beer at Johny's Bar). Then across the Mohave desert past 29 Palms, Edwards Air Force Base (120 degrees air temp) and on to Phoenix. Spent time with friends in PHX. Then back on the road to Four Corners, the Navaho Nation past Shiprock(awsome vistas there- very ghostly), Painted desert area, Petrified forest, then into Colorado. The road from Durango to Ouray was probably the most awesome road I've ever been on. I was at 11,000 feet twice on that stretch. The HD ran flawlessly. Never missed a beat. FYI, I have FI and my buddy, Steve, has a carb. Both ran perfect the whole trip. OK, on to Denver and spent the night in Brighton CO.. Woke up the next morning and checked the weather. It looked like a front was trying to catch us so we took off early and got caught in a hailstorm(not fun). Next stop Hickory Hills IL. We ran 1000+ on Tuesday to get home. We ran 1100+ the prior Tuesday on the way to Reno. I should have submitted the paperwork for the Iron Butt patch. Oh well, next time, 1000 miles doesn't seem like that much now. All in all, this was a ride that'll give me stories to tell for years. See ya all soon. Pics to follow.

Sounds like one kick ass ride you had there Sloroll. It's good to hear that you didn't have any bad luck, well minus the hailstorm, and that you made it back safe. Welcome back

Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.
