It's ALIVE..the Panhead that is

Well, after sitting on the lift for more than 6 months now, I finally have it running again. I had the heads redone with new valves, the cylinders line bored, new pistons and rings, new fuel lines, a little chcrome work and a lot of elbow grease to touch up gunjy parts. While it was apart I was able to check out the bottom end to make sure it was tight. Luckily everything looked good down there. When I tightened the last bolt I stood back and thought, "I hope I got everything right.". I had to pull the distributor in order to do all this so I was concerned that the timing would be correct. Anyone that has had a kicker knows what a pain it can be if the timing is even a hair off. Oh well, the time had come to start kicking. Gas on, ignition off.....3 twists on the throttle....enrichener on.....2 primer kicks......ignition on.....enrichener off.....KICK....nothing....KICK....nothing......KI CK.....BANGGGG ......KICK.......sputter.......KICK......potatopot atopotato..etc...etc...and on and on Took it for a test ride and everything seems to be good. Timing appears to have been right on. Sheeeeeee's Baaaack.
