Need Advice, thinking about a HD

I need some advice on what type of Harley I should buy. I am considering picking one up this year/possibly next year. I went in and looked at the Street Bob, really don't care for that to much. What are some of your opinions on different types of Harleys? I am thinking Fat Boy, maybe a Road King, or a Heritage. Don't know up in the air. Although the Street Bob, would look bad ass if I spent some extra money and changed out the bars, signals, etc.

^---lol....i was right there with ya....

as far as a harly...only thing i would ever get would be a fat boy or the new bike they came out with about 3 years agho...otherwise it would be a big dog...but im more then happy with crotch rockets myself...

...plus my gf was with me saying "omg slow down, slow down" and I was thinking "Lose annoying squalk box in passenger seat, afford more mods and have less weight in the car and on the back of the bike"...so i dumped her and I'm single again as usual...HERE KITTY KITTY!!!

I love the Street Bob. And, with the money you save, you can have them install the 103 c.i. kit and a set of detachable bags. What a machine that would be. A hundred and three cubes and a six speed tranny, WOW.

BTW, keep the mini apes if ya do get it.

Well, with the exception of the CVO's I have ridden just about every HD that is now in production (my best friend's day is a manager at a HD plant). Anyway, my two preferences would be the HD Road King Custom and the HD Softail probably the Fat Boy, but I also like the Springer.

In terms of feel, if you test ride a RK and a Softail, the first thing you will notice is that the RK is a much smoother ride. I know that people like to joke about HDs feeling like they are about to fall apart (think the Sportster), but the RK is SMOOTH and rides NICE. It is a comfy ride and it is not quite a glammed-out bagger like the other tourers, so it still looks like it has some attitude and not look like a V-Twined Goldwing.

Either way, it if you go with a RK or Fat Boy, I think that you will be riding with a smile on your face.

My favorite right now is the Street rod (FLHX) I'ts basicly the road king with hard bags and a front fairing with a stereo and more gauges. but not a fully bagged out electra glide.

I also am a fan of the duece but it depends on what kind of riding your going to do. When I ride I am out in the country usually alone for a couple hunderd miles with very litle stopping, so the tourer works for me. If its local cruising I would go with the duece.

First you need to decide what you want out of a bike? Bar hopping? long distance?

www.hdforums.com Check out this site there is a ton of information related to Harley's.

Street Glide not Rod

It's What I Got and YES a VERY Nice Bike!!! Also having the Radio Rocks!!

It's the Electra Glide with less chrome which gives it a more sportier look.

RoadKings are nice, BUT I don't care for the winshields and one is needed when doing any long distance riding. I had a loaner RK when I took my bike in for some work and I swear I got more shit in my eyes with the windshield and even had glasses on.

The FatBoy is a great bike also as that's what I always wanted UNTIL the FLHXi came along and I knew it was for me.

Oh ya the street glide is what I meant. Street rod is the crotch rocket seating position version of the vrod.

I cant stand the bat-wing style of the EGs. Way too old school for me. Other than that I like them.

A fairing and more importantly a radio/cd/mp3 is nice to have but not at the expense of that nasty piece of bodywork. Sorry Tony/Chey...just my preference.

I personally like the look of road king classics without a front fairing.
