My New Cruiser!

Well, I did it! I sold the 954 and picked up this little baby! Picked it up for 9 grand. Pretty good price considering the extras: GPS, Corbin seat, Back Rest,Lugg Rack,T/B Pipes, Dyno Jet, Throttle Miester Cruise. Bought it with 4270 miles, now it's got 4500 I have joined the ranks of the Crusier crowd. Here are some pics.

Yeah right, Jon! This is an April Fool's joke, isn't it? Did you really buy a cruiser???

If so that's pretty sweet. What kind of bike is it?

Good lookin Valk right there. (are those Two Bros pipes?)

As for the 954 - I thought you were sinking a wad of cash into making it all blingy? I'm having trouble believing all this.

On the other hand, you couldn't ride that 954 for shit, so you might as well trade for something a little more your speed!

I find out tomorrow. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ fuck! This thing is turning into a money pit. Mental note, don;t hold on to a bike for more than 30,000 miles.

Those aren't exhaust cans, they are pontoons. This bad boy is amphibious.

Are you sure it's the the trans??????????????????

Or is it the shifter mechanism itself?????????

Seriously bro, before you sink a lot of money into your bike I would make sure.

Exactly why I got rid of my valk, any perormance mods involved those but ugly pipes. No decent aftermarket at all for that bike.

What we are going to do first is install a tighter spring. We're hoping nothing is striped or bent and that this tighter spring will hold it in gear and do the trick.

If the spring doesn;t fix it, we'll check the oil for metal shavings. If there are metal shaving in the oil, chances are the dog is striped - Rebuild. We'll drop the oil pan and take a look at things.

If no metal shavings, than it's probably the shift forks. This will still cost a fuck load in labor.

Most likely it is the spring or Shift star. I thought my shift forks were bent or a dog was missing a tooth to, but it ended up being the shift mechansim. I sent the whole trans to get mangifluxed and nothing was bent or cracked. Change the spring and change the shift star and I'll bet it works. Make sure and keep your shifter lubed where it pivots too. And don't shift lazy.

The bad part about the SV is the whole entire motor has to come apart, the bottom end cases have to be split to get trans out. So if you go that deep you modify and replace as much stuff as you can while you're in there.
