I hate Harleys

I just thought I'd give some of you a thread in which you can specifically state your reasons why you hate Harleys and think the people that don't are idiots.

Please have at it.

They are kinda like the Cubs I don't hate them it is the people on them I tend to dislike. With the Cubs it is the fans I tend to dislike.

I don't like Harley, or actually their riders, cause a lot of them are snobs who think Harley is the only real bike. On a bright side though, Harleys do attract a lot of people into motorcycling.

Too expensive. Some of the bikes look kick ass, others look too old school for me. Similar to what Paladin said, there are many Harley riders who have a strange arrogance against anyone not riding a Harley. I don't act nasty to anyone riding any bike, whether you ride a Harley, Honda, Suzuki, Triumph, it's fine with me. I wave to all riders.

This could go on forever....

My neighbor just got a new 2006 Harley Street Glide. Its 1450 CC and makes just over 70 HP. $18,000 + dollars and over tips the scales at over 700 pounds.

Now, I have nothing against any bike. If you ride and your a decent human being toward all the other people that are on 2 wheels its ok with me.

But c'mon folks. The numbers just dont add up.

I like Harley's, but generally speaking, the folks that ride them are a special breed.

My best friend's dad just bought a Screaming Eagle Fatboy, I think it was like $32K, beautiful bike, I just don't understand the price or value.. There's no carbon or titanium or magnesium parts on it, just steel, iron and aluminum. I really don't understand it.. He also has a Screaming Eagle V-Rod, and it's more my style i guess.. I would like to pay for modern engineering, not something that was designed in the 50s

So with that thought... then you must hate anything that you cant afford? Is that what I am hearing, there has to be more of a reason than that?

I personally agree with alot of comments here. They are way over priced, under powered, but it IS a whole different world " The Harley World" that is. I cant go into a Harley dealer without at least spending a hundred on whatever I buy... Ugh! But with that said... I still do love my Harley... regardless of what it costs me.

It's more that I hate the fact that I can't afford to buy one. I was hoping that's how my comment would come across.

Who know's, my car is paid off in August, no other substantial bills, may look into buying one.

I love it when I ride up into a parking slot and a Harley-esque individual asks me why I'm not riding a REAL Mortorcycle?

Oh I like that answer! Could not have wrote it better myself - Oh and Ron, Brain will like the fact that you included "Triumph" in your list of bikes!

Oh and what everyone else said - It is still soooo early in the season and I am just out riding and waving and alreay getting the snub - Busa haters I guess ???

Hate is too strong a word at this point.
It implies I stll give a rat's ass.
And now the average HD rider is a harmless poser.
Besides it is just a machine.

this is a funny thread... I stoped by the HD dealer in lisle today... I wanted to see if they had a licence plate braket for me and to check out some of the bikes. When I pulled in with the duc every one looked at me like i was in the taliban, there was one guy that shook his head at me while I was parking. When he took his jacket off he was wearing a RR polo shirt and i noticed the rest of his clothes which were all yuppie... thats fine.. I am that way too... but dont act all bad ass like you better because you have another brand of bike.... on the way out we pulled out together, he laughed at me... I just pulled around.. He put his bike in gear and before we left the lot, He dropped the damn thing.

I dont care what you ride, and I dont really care how big an ego you have... but if you do please be ready to back it up

dont drop you bike in the lot~!!!!
