New to cruiser forum

Hi to all in cruiser forum. New to this area but not new (ok..some) to CLSB. Traded my ninjette about a month ago and picked up a 05 Star 650 Custom.

I am enjoying the extra hp and using what I learned on the Ninja.

Be safe and see you out there.

Bill

Nice bike. Windscreens are the new cool. Very SAMCRO'ish.

SloRoll just reading SAMCRO'ish sent chills down my spine.

Oh and welcome Vstar 650's are good bikes and the Custom definitely is the looker of the twins.

JR - thanks for the 650 link. Very cool.

The flyscreen stays. That and a new shift lever arm (previous owner dropped it) are the only additions since I bought it. More later but its a funds issue right now, as many can identify with. There is a Big difference between a happy rider @ 75 mph+ with the screen and an unhappy, distracted rider without. Distracted riders crash.

See you @ bike night.

C2000 - love the shaft drive. Nice "clunk" from 1st to 2nd and smooth as silk after that.

RedHD - 75 mph not mpg, silly. Although I am getting about 57 mpg which is alot better than I thought it would be.

Regards,

have to agree on the windscreen issue (although on my Road King it's a full blown huge windshield... ). Mine is quick disconnect so sometimes when just 'cruising' around town I take it off but at speed it's very distracting without it, mostly due to my eyes tearing up/drying out though (and I even have the wrap around glasses with the padding...but they are very cheap). All this is not an issue if I thrown on the full face helmet, but when I'm sporting the 1/2 or 3/4 open face I give up the looks and go with the windshield (also keeps a lot of bugs from smashing into your face...and in one instance for me on lake shore drive a football...that is quite the 'oh shit' moment)

anyway, nice bike! ....I had a 650 VStar Classic some years back and they are great bikes!
