Im not but let me guess what is said.

We need to cut spending.
We need to create jobs.
We need to compromise and fix the deficit.
With my knowledge I improved the economy, created jobs, overall made things better for the American people.

Also probly a lot of throwing out numbers, talking about his time in office, and of course trying to grab votes for the election.

does every realize that a tax rate is just a percentage? that it needs to be applied to an amount to mean anything?

warren buffet made $60,000,000 last year.

so, $60,000,000 X .15 equals $9,000,000 in taxes paid.

his secretary made how much? lets say $250,000

so, $250,000 X .35 equals $87,500 in taxes.

so buffet, even though his tax rate is higher, paid over 100 times more in tax.

Yep. Many people just don't understand that taxes work like a rheostat. You can't just keep raising them and raising them and expect to continue to generate more revenue...that's the point that so many miss, that by cutting (certain) taxes you actually increase revenue by the amount that percentage is applied to!!!!!

...and no way did I watch it. I could probably have written it myself as a guess and gotten pretty darn close.

How many jobs did he say HE generated this time?

I'm not saying Obama did everything right...

but blaming him for everything that has gone wrong, is exactly what all the Democrats did with Bush, once Obama was elected. To be perfectly honest - I don't know enough about current politics to make a fully informed decision about the 2012 election, but at the moment I don't think Obama is as bad as you guys are making him out to be.

and from the little I know about what (GOP) Congress has done for funding (read: taking away funding) for mental health centers across the US I can't say I'm too happy with them either.

I liked that most of the speech, especially the first half was about bringing jobs here and making it economically rewarding for companies that do.
Found this really encouraging story this morning about Intel building a new manufacturing plant in AZ.

I like how they play with the numbers...when in actuality....

87% of the population pays 15% or less in income tax.

I'm still not sold on Romney....but the guy paid his 15% on his capital gains income (which he was already taxed at the regular rate on before he invested it) AND gave another 15% to charity......

I'd be curious to see how many people it would take in equal value at the median income level to match Romney's 15% he paid on 20 million....

Obama and Biden didn't give squat to charity.

http://www.tomshardware.com/news/int...ory,14545.html

There's a HUGE difference between action and words. In this case, the two could not be more different. Bringing jobs here and making it economically rewarding to do so? This administration has created when of the most caustic business atmospheres in this country's history. A constant attack on "corporations" and the "rich" that drive business (the "rich" of course including small business owners, but they never say that in their action speeches ), a slew of taxes and regulations aimed at controlling business and steering it towards political intent and milking as much revenue from it as possible all while professing to support the people that depend on the jobs created by those institutions.

The people are wise to it, at least most of them. I've decided, for my own sanity...what's left of fit anyways, to simply not even pay attention to the rhetoric anymore and speak with my vote in November...not much more to it than that.

Tom

Really?...EVERYONE was better off during Bush and it's simple to prove:

1: Fuel prices...They cause EVERYTHING to go up.

2: Food prices... The first and most devastating indicator of the hyper inflation that's coming and beginning. We saw it in the '70's and it will only make the recession worse (part 2 of "double dip") and further deepen unemployment. Food prices are not only effected by fuel prices and currency downgrades but by shortages and price controls etc. designed to manipulate the market. How about a free market for food?

3, 4 and 5: The fact that money was printed without anything to back it up to cover our debt payments which has not only insured future inflation at an ever increasing level, it also contributed to the country having its credit rating lowered. Also, allowing the dollar to weaken tremendously without any action to bolster it leading to where it is no longer considered the worlds back up currency by many and may soon suffer that fate officially.
All the above is economic.

I only have one item I want to cite regarding foreign policy...
Allowing Iran to get ever closer to developing a nuclear weapon and the capability of using same. Not only does that not make Americans NOT better off it puts the whole world in greater jeopardy.

All of this is fact. none of it is manipulated statistic or based on ideology and it proves conclusively we were all better off during the Bush administration.

"Dirt is for racing on...Asphalt is for getting there" OR "Flat trackers go in deeper and come out harder... OR (With apologies to General MaCarthur) "Old motorcycle racers never die, they just slip off the groove and fade into the dust!

If you want to anger a conservative, tell him a lie. To anger a liberal all one must do is tell the truth!

We can only be so lucky if they keep taking away from other things too.

I am tired of paying for services I see being wasted. Until it can be done right. It shouldn't be done at all.

Tired of paying taxes when 53% of americans don't pay taxes. They also absorb too much of the payouts.

It's not fair that I am forced into paying for someone who never paid into it them self.

Tired of associations created to funnel funds to line peoples pockets.

While Obama may be our President, I hate how many forget that our wonderful Congress-critters are also steering this nation. They share blame too... both corrupt fucking parties. Just easy to point your finger at the actions of one man, instead of the actions or inactions of a collective group who cannot get ANY shit done.

And no, I didn't watch the speech. I spent my night exercising my 2nd Amendment rights.
