Could this be true?

If we put a monkey in charge for the same time, what would these stats have been then? Just curious.

Gas was $1.85? It hasnt been $1.85 for as long as I can remember.

"includes 10 used-car dealers or auto repair shops, 11 liquor stores and bars--two of which advertise lingerie fashion shows and a third billed as a "gentlemen's club"--three cut-rate motels and one trailer park. The squat, brick municipal building is next to a currency exchange and a few steps from an adult video store. The bars open at 10 a.m. and close at 6:30 a.m."

Look at you, thinkin' you can troll now. But, if you really want to troll, you have to post Pro-Obama stuff as almost everyone on this sites hates Obama, thinks he isn't a US citizen and is a terrorist.

I know very little about politics except what I see and hear with stuff like this. That's why I ask, is all this true?

Nope. If you check the facts, they actually show that most of those data points were faked to be blamed on Obama. In reality, it was all Bush's fault.

It's been discussed here many times.

Really? Who puts this crap out then? Where can I find actual information about these points? I realize whoever puts this stuff out probably chooses the most negative stats and buries the positive ones (if there are any), but still.

Nah don't have any reason to not agree with the numbers, but I also haven't put forth any effort to see where the numbers came from. I'm sure I could find charts that spin the data so that Obama looks good, but I'm hungry and would rather look at funny pictures of cats doing funny stuff.

well, here is one positive development in the last year even g in 3 would agree with

looks like old pat is softening up a bit

Back in December 2010, The Atlantic's Chris Good wrote about "Pat Robertson's Christmas Present to Marijuana Legalizers', his take on a recent airing of The 700 Club where Robertson said, "We're locking up people that take a couple of puffs of marijuana, and the next thing you know they've got ten years ... it's costing us a fortune and it's ruining young people. Young people going to prisons--they go in as youths and they come out as hardened criminals, it's not a good thing." Back then Robertson's spokesman said it wasn't a call to decriminalize pot.

So, fast forward to last week on The 700 Club where Robertson, as The Atlantic's Andrew Cohen writes, "devoted nearly nine minutes of the broadcast to commentary and a (really well produced) piece on the topic." Adding, "He's also right in identifying the notion that decriminalizing pot possession is one of the easiest ways to break the cycle of incarceration that ruins people -- and government budgets." Following that broadcast, Robertson told The Times' Jesse McKinley, " I just want to be on the right side... And I think on this one, I’m on the right side."

I found that too and couldn't believe that gas prices dropped by more than $2 in a few months... but they did:

http://news.consumerreports.org/cars...y-26-2009.html

This shows in January, 2009, gas prices were $1.84. I didn't believe it until I saw the numbers.

Well then for the sake of the country, we must re-elect!

Life has no instruction manual. Parts and labor can be impossible to find. Many go down the road with parts that are in need of service. A breakdown is eventual.

If you want to play with graphs, google has tons of public data available. If you want to get political information regurgitated by others, keep on reading forums in the internet.

I checked some of Ken's data agains Bloomberg. Which came straight from the bureau of labor statistics. There's always ways to spin data, but that chart seems to be pretty raw data without a spin

I'm sorry, but how does the president have anything to do with gas prices? We could produce all the gas we want here domesticly and it won't change the price. If there is trouble in the middle east, the speculators will help ramp up the price.

If you ain't with us, then it's just bad news.

Not entirely true J...domestic production absolutely effects price...because it changes supply. The reason gas prices have spiked so uncontrollably is because OPEC has lost much of its capacity buffer, meaning it can no longer just ramp up production when it wants to, not to the extent it once could anyway...and that has little to do with the actual in-ground supply.

Gas prices have a huge effect on the economy, if I remember right it's about $0.50 increase drops, on average, the GDP 1%. The President is always going to get blame/attention on something that important, fair or not.
